Manhunting - Jennifer Crusie

Description~

Kate Svenson may be a dynamite businesswoman—but after three failed engagements, she's decided she's hopeless at romance. What she needs is a Business Plan to help her find Mr. Right.

The Cabins resort is ripe with eligible bachelors, all rich and ambitious—just her type. But they're dropping like flies, and after fishing Kate's latest reject out of the swimming pool Jake Templeton is convinced that Kate is nothing but trouble. Especially for him.

A man who's sworn off ambition and a woman hanging from the top of the corporate ladder don't have much in common. But in that unpredictable territory known as the heart, anything can happen….

Kate is your normal 'suit in the big city' kinda girl...overworked and success driven! The only problem is, she needs the right man to be part of her big plans. Being engaged 3 times one would think one guy would stick but NOPE! So her friend talks her into taking a vacation at a high scale golf resort to "Man hunt" and find herself a hubby! Kate soon meets the lazy and retired Jake Templeton. On the outside hes everything the plan goes against but Kate finds herself oddly attracted to his laid back manner. But whats gonna happen when Kate finds herself having to choose between her old life and her new...will Kate's plans change?

Like yall know I LOVE JC! She did not disappoint in this book! This book was predictably cute! BUT b/c it was predictable it got a mark off. Don't get me wrong...predictable can be great at times...like your favorite pair of jeans its just I think I wanted something different this time around.

One thing I liked about this book was that Kate really went for what she wanted in life. THEN when she ever realizes the problem with her master plan she takes control once again to fix it! YES it does take some convincing from her friend but in the end she goes straight for what she wants in life! :o)

I really enjoyed the banter between Kate and Jake! They were so funny teasing each other all the time. Jake found it amusing that she was there to find a husband...little did he know that bonding with her during her hunt would leave them closer than ever! Another thing that always cracked me up how he went fishing in the boat with Kate every morning and complained about how she couldn't shut her mouth! lol He wanted his peace and quiet! ;o)

Like I said...this book was predictable...High powered woman comes to small town, meets easy going man, man teaches woman how to relax, they fall in love, woman has to choose between the two different lives. (Wow I kinda described Instant Gratification didn't I?) Regardless it's a cute quick read. You wouldn't be sorry if you picked this one up. :o)

Snib Bit~

Kate smiled smugly at Jake. "I have a date this afternoon."
"Oh lord." Jake closed his eyes. "Who are you going to destroy now?"
"I beg your pardon."
"The resort would appreciate it if you'd just throw back the men you don't want without maiming them".
"I haven't maimed anyone, Kate protested.
"You almost drowned Lance. You scared Peter into heart palpitations. You hit Brad over the head with a bottle." Jake shook his head. "And you still have men asking you out"?
"Lance grabbed me. Peter was cheating at golf. And, I might point out, I hit Brad to save you."
Jake gave her a wicked grin. "Has any guy actually finished a date with you"?

LOL! :o) Too funny. They totally bond and create a great friendship before they get together. Its great!

I give this book a total of...

This book is super cute. I kinda felt like with as much as you read about the characters...you still didn't know them as well as you could've. I dunno. I really liked Jake and Kate...it isn't my favorite J.C. but it's up there.
