Well my fam came to to visit and that was great! Its always nice to not have to cook b/c the ma-in-law wants to spoil you...although I feel I will be working off my extra poundage for the next month! UGH! lol Im from the south...born and raised and I STILL dont understand why us (well not really me) southerners feel the need to have like 50 deserts and fry everything that goes in their mouth! Whats up with that?!?!

Ok anyways (5lbs later)...Michael and my anniversary is coming up...Nov 4th it will be 3 years! lol So do we still fall under the "newlywed" category?!?! In closing I thought I'd share a funny story...well one year (I think like 2 years ago) I decided to go to a Halloween party with some friends and my hubby...I decided to go as some sort demon...well I got my entire outfit together (bought it at the Salvation Army, Party Central etc) and thought I was ready to go...well my dang wings got ripped off by a drunk and I broke my horns b/c I think I fell at one point SO everyone ended up asking me if I dressed as a prostitute! LMAO! OMG so I had to share this pic with yall!

Love yall an have a Happy & Safe Halloween!

I gotta say that after I read my last Black Dagger Book (and NO Im not comparing) I was left...idk...out in the cold...idk how to say it but I thought I was gonna get my normal feel of that "world" and I felt that I didnt. So coming back to the Dark Hunter books was a great place to be. This book was excited and pulled at all your heart strings! You wont be disappointed in it and let me tell you in the HOT department...mmm...mmm gooood! ;o) It was awesome! YUM! lol

Snib Bit~
Though she wasn't a great beauty, she held a quiet charm to her features that was inviting. Tempting.

Against his will, he reached his hand up to touch her jaw, just below her ear. Softer than velvet, her delicate skin warmed his cold fingers.
It had been so long since he last touched a woman. So long since he had last tasted one.
Before he could stop himself, he leaned down and captured those parted lips with his own.
Wulf growled at the taste of her as his body roared to life. He'd never sampled anything sweeter than the honey of her mouth. Never smelled anything more intoxicating than her clean, rose-scented flesh.
Her tongue danced with his as her hands clutched at his shoulders, pressing him closer to her. Making him hard and stiff with the thought of how soft her body would be in other places.
And in that moment, he wanted her with an urgency that stunned him. It was a desperate need he hadn't felt in a long, long time.
Cassandra's senses swirled at the unexpected contact of his lips on hers. She'd never known anything like the power and hunger of his kiss.
The faint smell of sandalwood clung to his flesh and he tasted of beer and wild, untamed masculinity.

Barbarian.

It was the only word to describe him. His arms flexed around her as he plundered her mouth masterfully. He wasn't just deadly to Daimons. He was deadly to a woman's senses. Her heart hammered as her entire body burned, wanting a mad taste of his strength inside her.
She kissed him desperately.
He cupped her face in his hands while he nibbled her lips with his teeth. His fangs.
Suddenly, he deepened his kiss as he ran his hands over her back, pressing her closer to those lean, masculine hips so that she could feel just how hard and ready he was for her.
She felt him all the way down her entire being. Every hormone in her body sizzled. She wanted him with a ferocity that terrified her. Not once in her life had she ever known such hot, wrenching desire, especially not for a stranger.
She should be pushing him away.
Instead, she wrapped her arms around his broad, rock-hard shoulders and held him tight. It was all she could do to not reach down, unzip those pants and guide him straight into the part of her that throbbed with demanding need. Part of her didn't even care that they were on the street. It wanted him right here. Right now. No matter who or what saw them. It was an alien part of herself that scared her.
Wulf fought the urgency inside him that demanded her pin her to the brick wall beside them and have her wrap those long, shapely legs of hers around his waist. To push her sinfully short skirt up over her hips and bury himself deep inside her body until she screamed out his name in sweet release.

Dear gods, how he ached to possess her.

If only he could...

YOWZA!

The Lost Duke of Wyndham (Two Dukes of Wyndham, Book 1) - Julia Quinn

Will the real Duke of Wyndham please stand up?

Jack Audley has been a highwayman. A soldier. And he has always been a rogue. What he is not, and never wanted to be, is a peer of the realm, responsible for an ancient heritage and the livelihood of hundreds. But when he is recognized as the long-lost son of the House of Wyndham, his carefree life is over. And if his birth proves to be legitimate, then he will find himself with the one title he never wanted: Duke of Wyndham.

Grace Eversleigh has spent the last five years toiling as the companion to the dowager Duchess of Wyndham. It is a thankless job, with very little break from the routine... until Jack Audley lands in her life, all rakish smiles and debonair charm. He is not a man who takes no for an answer, and when she is in his arms, she's not a woman who wants to say no. But if he is the true duke, then he is the one man she can never have...

Ok I cant help but be so excited about this book...its exactly what the blurb says. Grace is a companion of the dowager Duchess of Wynham. They are coming home one night and get robbed by a highwayman that the dowager ends up thinking is her long lost grandchild. Turns out he is...but did his parents get married...will he be forced into being the NEW Duke? And what about the current Duke Thomas?

Alright only touching on a few things b/c I dont want to spoil this book b/c I REALLY recommend it to yall!

First off that first night they get robbed by Jack...OM(Its my Snib Bit btw) but that entire part start to finish was WONDERFUL. Jack is such a charmer and steals more than jewelery from them...he steals a kiss from Grace! :o) And its her first ever kiss!!! AWWW!!!! From then the dowager tries to talk Jack into believing he is her long lost grandchild! He soon flees the situation but cant shake the entire night off.

Jack get KIDNAPPED by the dowager and Grace...TOO FUNNY BTW! And ends up agreeing to follow through with all their plans in finding out if his parents got married. B/c by then it is super apparent that he is his father child, they are a spitting image.

Grace and Jack end up totally falling for eachother but are torn b/c of their status. Grace cant marry a duke (if he is to become one) therefore Jack wants to ruin all plans of dukedom! lol

Like i said this book is amazing! Jack and Graces love is freaking out of this world. It does have some steamy parts but I must say I was totally more into the love they felt for eachother...so poetic! :o)

Snib Bit~
"Take her!" the dowager suddenly cried out, grabbing Grace's arm and thrusting her at the highwayman. "You may hold her hostage, with a gun to the head if you desire.”

Grace swayed and stumbled, the shock of the moment rendering her almost insensible. She fell against the highwayman, and one of his arms came instantly around her. The embrace was strange, almost protective, and she knew that he was as stunned as she.

Grace fought to breathe. Her back was pressed up against him, and his large hand rested against her abdomen, the tips of his fingers curling gently around her right hip. He was warm, and she felt hot, and dear heaven above, she had never --never-- stood so close to a man.
"She should not have done that." He sounded... gentle. Almost sympathetic. And stern, as if he did not approve of the dowager's treatment of her.
"I am not used to holding a woman such," he murmured in her ear. "I generally prefer a different sort of intimacy, don't you?"

She said nothing, afraid to speak, afraid that she would try to speak and discover she had no voice.

"I won't harm you," he murmured, his lips touching her ear.
Her eyes fell on his gun, still in his right hand. It looked angry and dangerous, and it was resting against her thigh.
"We all have our armor," he whispered, and he moved, shifted, really, and suddenly his free hand was at her chin. One finger lightly traced her lips, and then he leaned down and kissed her.

Grace stared in shock as he pulled back, smiling gently down at her.

"That was far too short," he said. "Pity." He stepped back, took her hand, and brushed another kiss on her knuckles. "Another time, perhaps," he murmured.

But he did not let go of her hand. Even as the dowager emerged from the carriage, he kept her fingers in his, his thumb rubbing lightly across her skin.
She was being seduced. She could barely think --she could barely breathe-- but this, she knew. In a few minutes they would part ways, and he would have done nothing more than kiss her, and she would be forever changed.

HOT DAMN this guy is so FREAKING charming! OMG! He's robbing them and yet he still seems to capture poor Graces heart...did I say POOR Grace...lol ya right! Jack could charm the pants off of me ANY day...literally! ;op

The second book is from Thomas's (the current Duke) POV and tells the story of his struggle with his life turning upside-down and possibly loosing his fiance! Its called Mr. Cavendish, I Presume (Two Dukes of Wyndham, Book 2).

Just the Sexiest Man Alive - Julie James

Description~
Taylor Donovan, a brilliant Chicago lawyer visiting L.A. to defend a sexual harassment case, is not happy to be assigned to help heartthrob actor Jason Andrews prep for a courtroom drama. As they begin working together, Jason predictably behaves like a spoiled teenager, but becomes increasingly enchanted with Taylor. She eventually begins to see Jason as a nice guy underneath his Hollywood attitude—with sleazy, jealous actor Scott Casey as a convenient foil—but she can't set aside her trust issues. Can Jason convince Taylor to stay in L.A.?

Ok how adorable was this book? Julie James is a new author for me. Her book was very young, fresh and funny! I giggled so many times in this book that I didn’t really mind that there was no real hanky panky! ;o)

We meet Taylor:
Taylor is a very driven Chicago lawyer thrown into L.A. on a big sexual harassment case. Taylor used to be engaged to your typical heartbreaker BUT caught him cheating on her a bit before they were to be married. This in turn left her having PLENTY of trust issues. While in L.A. her boss Sam talks her into taking on a personal favor of coaching THE Jason Andrews for his new movie.

We meet Jason:
Jason is your typical Star…high maintenance, womanizing, oh and the SEXIEST MAN ALIVE! ;o) Jason is at the peek of his career but needs some guidance when it comes to acting like a lawyer for his new movie. Who better to do that then the sultry Taylor Donovan! When Jason first sees Taylor in the courtroom hes intrigued! But its when the two start to bump heads that he finds out Ms. Donovan is the kind of woman he wants…and lets just say hes not used to hearing the word “no”.

Like I said this book was adorable and there are so many pluses about it…one thing would have to be the banter within the story. Jason and Taylor fighting was just too funny! Jason isn’t used to having people not bend over backwards for him and it unsettles him…but it also seems to hit the right spots b/c he almost doesn’t mind b/c its Taylors strong will! Lol Another aspect I loved was the love triangle…just as Jason is trying to pursue Taylor someone else takes notice and jumps in line! Lol Of course, its none other than Jasons film rival Scott Casey! Scott tries to sweep Taylor off her feet and ALMOST does the job. Scott’s true colors end up rearing their ugly heads and Taylor quickly falls back into Jason. I simply love love triangles…I love to see the men fight over the women!

I guess the big part of the story is that Taylor has big trust issues with men that have been players in their pastimes! Her ex Daniel and Jason seem to have that in common and when Taylor puts two and two together she quickly heads for the hills to avoid more heartbreak! BUT Jason (unlike Daniel) has actually changed his ways and is ready to start a life with her! By the end of the story you’re cheering along with everyone else to see them together! :o)

Snib Bit~
Taylor tapped her fingers nervously on her steering wheel. The thought of crawling back to Jason Andrews was just so humiliating. It infuriated her that, due to his “status” people automatically gave him such deference – that wi
th one snap of his fingers, she was expected to smile politely and apologize to him.
As Taylor opened the door and hesitantly stood in the doorway, scanning the faces of the men seated at the bar, who in turn stared right back at her.

“Ms. Donovan!”
She turned and saw Jason Andrews near a pool table in the back. He walked over to her, pretending to be shocked.

“Why, imagine seeing you here!”

At the sight of his smug, victorious look, Taylor staggered back a few steps and fell against the door. Oh god, she couldn’t do it. With his arms folded expectantly across his chest – he did indeed know what was coming—Jason’s grin grew wider as he watched Taylor’s reaction to his greeting. This girl seriously cracked him up. At the nauseated look on her face, he half expected her to turn around and walk right out the door without one further word.
But instead, she took a deep breath.

“Don’t be coy, Mr. Andrews,” she said in that all-business tone of hers. “I know your assistant told you I was coming.”

Jason’s eyes widened innocently. At the way she’d walked over all snappy-heels, he couldn’t resist hamming it up.

“You were looking for me? Whatever can I do for you, Ms. Donovan?” Taylor stood there, staring evilly at Jason as if she wanted nothing more right then than to grab him by his cashmere zip pullover and zip it right up to his eyebrows.
“It seems I may have been a bit…hasty when I walked out of the courtroom the other day,” she told him. “My firm would very much like to work with you on your...little project.”
He ignored her not-so-subtle dig at his film.
“And You?”
She responded matter-of-factly to this. “I’m willing to put my personal preferences on the matter aside.”

Jason gazed down at her. She really wasn’t affected by him at all.”

LOL! This was truly an enjoyable book and I highly recommend it as a quick and fun read! :o)

Lover Unbound (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 5) - JR Ward

Description~
Vishous, son of the Bloodletter, is a cunning, stone-hearted vampire warrior devoted to killing the wicked, undead vampire slayers known as the Lessers; after an ill-fated visit to a hospital, Vishous falls instantly and unexpectedly in love with a human surgeon, Dr. Jane Whitcomb. Soon, Vishous has brought the unwitting human back to the Brotherhood lair, where she returns his feelings, opening up a potentially cataclysmic conflict—Vishous is, against his will, destined to become the Primale, a warrior with multiple vampire wives who's meant to ensure the survival of the species.

***SPOILERS***

Ok awesome! I really enjoyed this book. I never really cared for V until Butchs book (Lover Revealed) and in this book V really shines through as a caring and compassionate male! :o)

Alright so V gets shot and brought to a human hospital where he meets Jane...does anyone hear the word Mine coming??? lol Well so when the Brother break him out they take Jane with them and Jane and V end up falling in love.

There are however a few things that stand in the way of their love. First off V has to get over Butch: I really enjoyed V's love for Butch. I was very skeptical about them b/c I simply love my Brothers straight and I think Marissa and Butch are a good match...BUT I have to say the feeling that V had just warmed your heart. I think in the end when Butch had the talk with V and said that it want so much love but him feeling something for someone for the first time, he had it so right. Another thing in their way was the fact that obviously Jane has a life outside in the real world. Jane is a surgeon at St. Francis Hospital and has devoted her life work to her deceased sister Hannah (which btw her and her sisters story-Janes background- was great, very intriguing). It would take a LOT for Jane to want to give up her work for a VAMPIRE who risks his life every day. And the last big obstacle is the fact that V's mom...THE SCRIBE VIRGIN (ya...omg his background was super sad) has chosen him to be the Primale to the Chosen on the other side. Basically he is to mate with the Chosen in hopes to impregnate them so their species can carry on. This fate is unavoidable in both V and Janes eyes and when V tells Jane bye for the last time your left wondering if they will ever see eachother again. Esp since he had to wipe all of her memory of him...it was super sad! :*(

A turning point in the story is when Phury decides that he will take V's place as Primale so V can go claim Jane. (In comes Cormia...which is Phurys mate in the next book) When thats done Jane ends up being shot and killed. V turns crazy and ends up bringing her to their secret tomb or whatever in hope of reviving her as...a lesser I suppose. Well it doesnt end that way and she stays dead until his mom ends up bringing a ghost Jane back to him. And they live happily ever after! lol

Ok this is where I have to give my one complaint...I didnt like how they brought Jane back. I understand that Ward had to think of some way to make her immortal BUT I just didnt like the ghost idea. I really felt for V and Janes love and it broke my heart when she died...and believe me I wanted her back BUT I felt it just wasnt done in a creative way.

Two more things...John Mathew...ok dont make fun of me and I know that Darius is his fatehr but I cant help but think that HE is Darius and doesnt know it...idk...a stretch?!?! Also we find out V has a twin sister named Payne that "sleeping" b/c the Scribe Virgin put her that way...idk?!? OH and Phury had sex FINALLY (btu you dotn read too much about it) in a bathroom stall at the club and he didnt finish...UGH!

Snib Bit~
"I dont want you to go," she whispered, tears in the achy pitch of her voice.
He put his bare hand to her cheek and felt the softness and warmth of her face. He knew when he pulled out of here, he was leaving his heart with her. He pulled her into his arms and rested his chin on the top of her head. Holly hell, he was never going to smell chocolate and not think of her, not pine for her. Just as he closed his eyes a tingle ran up his spine, trembling along the back of his neck and shooting to the anchor of his jaw. He pulled back and pressed his lips to hers. "I love you. And I'm going to keep loving you even after you don't know I exist."

Her lashes flickered, catching her tears until there were too many to hold.
"V...I..."
He waited for a heartbeat. When she didn't finish, he took her chin in his palm and looked into her eyes.

"Oh, God, you're going to do it," she said. "You're going to-"

*sigh...ok so its a good addition to the BDB series and you shouldn't miss out on it! :o) Happy reading!

It Had To Be You (Chicago Stars, Book 1) - Susan Elizabeth Phillips

Description~

The Windy City isn't quite ready for Phoebe Somerville—the outrageous, curvaceous New York knockout who has just inherited the Chicago Stars football team. And Phoebe is definitely not ready for the Stars' head coach, former gridiron legend Dan Calebow, a sexist jock taskmaster with a one-track mind. Calebow is everything Phoebe abhors. And the sexy new boss is everything Dan despises—a meddling bimbo who doesn't know a pigskin from a pitcher's mound.

So why is Dan drawn to the shameless sexpot like a heat-seeking missile? And why does the coach's good ol' boy charm leave cosmopolitan Phoebe feeling awkward, tongue-tied...and ready to fight?

Hmmm...alright...hmmm...this was my first book by SEP and Im not sure how to take it. Was the book bad...NO! But was it good...ehh. This book just did not move me much and Im not even sure what couldve been done to make it better.

I loved how every person in the book had a big background. Phoebe had a father who hated her, a cousin that had problems (he was super creepy and liked her in a VERY inappropriate way) and a half sister that resents her! Dan had a crap childhood, Ron the GM of the team was a pus, Molly (Phoebes sister) had mommy/daddy issues...etc. It made the story very well rounded and you felt that you understood a lot of their actions.

I also liked the storyline. I was really craving a sports book and this one sounded right up my alley...girls rich father dies and leaves her a football team...but hes really trying to set her up for failure and she goes to prove him wrong. In the meantime she falls fro ex-quarterback/head coach that has his own issues. BUT it really just...didnt do it for me. I felt Dan was such a typical jock...he chased tail TOO MANY TIMES and I felt he didnt learn his lesson until Phoebe's life was in danger...or right b4 that.

The down fall really is part of Dan (the coach). Him and his ex-wife are still having sex...ok the bigger picture in that is they are both lonely and havent found anyone else. They know the marriage is over and are fine with that they just want sex. Thats cool...BUT Val (his ex) is into some weird stuff...sex wise. Ive heard of fantasies...hey who doesnt have a few of their own but this woman wanted kiddie sex and rape victim sex. FOR ME it made those parts uncomfortable to read...and at some points I was seriously thinking "are you kidding me"? Im not the most conservative girl out there but I think its weird and didnt appeal to me at all.

A big part of the book that I enjoyed was Phoebe and Molly getting to know eachother and be sisters. Molly has always had a grudge against Phoebe and makes her life a living hell when she has to live with her. She lies to Dan and says Phoebe hits her etc and makes up lies! Poo Phoebe isnt sure how to relate to the girl that resents her. BUT the thing that tore them apart actually ends up bringing them together...their father! It was very touching and after being so frustrated with Dan and Phoebes relationship I found myself more interested in the sisters!

Overall this book was decent...I was in between 2.5 - 3 stars...I wasnt really impressed but I think I will continue to try out SEP. Anybody read this series?

I give this book a total of...

Devil of the Highlands - Lynsay Sands

Description~

They call him the Devil . . .

He is the most notorious laird of Scotland: fierce, cold, deadly . . . and maybe even worse. Yet Evelinde has just agreed to wed him. Anything, she thinks, is better than her cruel stepmother. Though Evelinde should be wary of the rumors, she can't help but be drawn to this warrior . . . for the Devil of the Highlands inspires a heat within her that is unlike anything she has ever known.

They may call him whatever they wish, but Cullen, Laird of Donnachaidh, cares only for the future of his clan. He must find a wife, a woman to bear him sons and heed his commands. He has no need for beauty or grace, but one taste of his lovely bride's sweet lips and the sultry feel of her skin arouse an untamed passion. Perhaps there's more to marriage than he thought . . .

Evelinde lives a hard life with her wicked stepmother! After her poor father passed away Evelinde was forced to take on all the duties that the woman of the household should’ve fallen into. This story almost falls into the pace of Cinderella! Lol She gets abused by the stepmother and hasn’t married because her betrothed died years back. One day Evelinde was called to her stepmother and told she was to be married off…this excited Evelinde! BUT her excitement soon came to a halt when she found out her betrothed was none other than Devil of the Highlands Cullen, Laird of Donnachaidh. Cullen has a horrible reputation but could anything be worse than staying in her current situation? Upset about her betrothed, Eve goes for a ride and ends up in the arms of a strange man! She’s very intrigued when he kisses her and even more when she finds out HE is Cullen her betrothed! Surely this “Devil of the Highlands” can’t be as bad as his reputation…or can he?

This book was great! Ive never read Lynsay Sands before and actually haven’t heard much about her either. I seen this book in Target one night and was craving a kilt to light my fire! Lol And this book surely did the trick!

I just loved how Eve (they didn’t call her that in the book but it’s the most odd name to type so Im sticking with Eve) met Cullen out riding and they ended up in each others arms! EPP! He kissed and caressed and I totally didn’t expect that so soon in the book! This was only foreshadowing for a GREAT sex life that was to come! Lol He was so tender with Eve and every time they made love, it was full of emotion!

Eve and Cullen also had a great relationship…one wouldn’t think that at first though! After quickly marrying Eve he whisked her away to his castle to keep her away from her evil stepmother! So many of his actions in the book made your heart melt…of course it wasn’t until AFTER b/c the man never explained his actions but you know lots of men are like that aren’t they?!?! Lol Let me tell you this man was the KING of not talking and that brought on a problem in the marriage…BUT as many relationships go…it’s the fighting that brings upon peace.

One aspect of the story that I didn’t see coming was all the mystery! See Cullen has a bad rep b/c there was so much death on his life that everyone figured he did it himself to get his position. Well he wasn’t a man who cared much for gossip so he let it go, but when his wife starts to have TOO MANY life threatening situations he realizes he needs to get to the bottom of the murders. I don’t want to spoil who the actual killer is BUT Ill tell you that there wasn’t one person who didn’t cross my mind. I thought everyone was the killer at one point! Lol To me that makes a great mystery…when you just have no clue. And let me tell you I was surprised when I realized who it was!

Snib Bit~
“There is blood on my gown. You must have cut your head when you fell.” The position put her upper body inches above his face and Cullen started getting that closed in feeling again until he was distracted by the breasts jiggling before his eyes. The chemise she wore was very thin and presently wet, he noted, which was no doubt what made it see-through. Cullen found himself staring at the beautiful, round orbs with fascination, shifting his eyes left and right to continue to do so when she turned his head from side to side to search out the source of the blood. “Calm yerself,” was what he said. Cullen didn’t believe in wasting words. However, it was doubtful if she understood what he said since his words came out muffled by the nipple suddenly filling his open mouth. Despite his intentions not to scare her, when he realized it was a nipple in his mouth, he couldn’t resist closing his lips around it and flicking his tongue over the linen-covered bud. In the next moment, he found pain shooting through his head once more as he was dropped back to the ground.

LMAO! I loved that part...they had JUST MET! And after that comes a SUPER GOOD PART! lol

Over all this entire book was great! Like I said it was my first LS book and I know Ill be going back for more! Any recommendations on which ones to head to first??

Cry Wolf (Alpha and Omega, Book 1) - Patricia Briggs

Description~
Anna never knew werewolves existed until the night she survived a violent attack…and became one herself. After three years at the bottom of the pack, she’d learned to keep her head down and never, ever trust dominant males. But Anna is that rarest kind of werewolf: an Omega. And one of the most powerful werewolves in the country will recognize her value as a pack member—and as his mate.

Ok this goes without saying that I love Patricia Briggs! I LOVE Mercy Thompson and now I can add that I love the Alpha and Omega series. It all started when I read the short story in On the Prowl. I got hooked to Charles and Annas new found relationship and lets just say that it grows even deeper in Cry Wolf.

Anna is new to the area and is having a time fitting to her new mate Charles. They met in her home town of Chicago under certain circumstances and soon found out that their wolves were mated at first site. But as she makes it to her new home she finds that things have only gotten worse and the action is only rising!

There is talk of a rouge were out in the woods attacking and Charles is sent by his father Bran ( the Marrok) to settle to problem. Anna wont leave her newly found mate and follows. See Anna is an Omega wolf (she can calm even the most fearsome of souls with merely her presence) and thinks she may be a big help. So she follows Charles on his quest to bring in the rouge.

Little did they know that the rouge is the least of their problems. Their biggest problem is a witch thats stolen a long-lived wolfs mating bond. Asil is pack and lost his mate centuries ago. The witch that has stolen it has gained power of the pack and plans to draw out Asil and finish the job of taking his life. Her guardian wolf is Asil mate...or at least a shell of his mate. After Asil finds out his plan is to free her soul once and for all.

This book was great! I honestly dont have but like one complaints! Otherwise it runs right along with how I feel about Mercy Thompson.

One thing I loved about this book was that Anna and Charles relationship really gets to grow! You get into both of their minds to listen to how they are feelings, their insecurities etc about the other person! Anna is really trying in this relationship. Its a adjustment for her b/c she came from a pack that did nothing but abuse and raper her! Charles is extremely protective of her and even more thoughtful! :o)

I loved how you got into Asils past. Asil is a VERY old wolf....abotu as old or even older than Bran! You learn of his relationship with his mate and how she met her end. They adopted the witch when she was younger and she ended up turning on them and killing her when Asil was away. Many years later Asil is having horrible dreams that repeats her death and he is in fear that the witch has come back to finish the job...and SHE HAS!

Anna has really ended up being a lot stronger than I thought she would be. I have to admit I was very skeptical about her character. I LOVE a strong willed woman who can stand on her own and in the beginning Anna didnt quite have those traits. But as her relationship grew with Charles and the pack so did her courage! There were times when Charles would get attacked and Anna would jump right in to defend her mate! LOVED IT!

One thing I didnt like was...
When they (Bran, Asil, the rouge, Charles and Anna) were all getting ready to have the final showdown and fight I felt it was drug out. Bran was pretending to be Tag (another were) Anna, Charles and the rouge were hiding, the witch was bitching everyone out...etc. I just felt like saying get on with the show danggit! It couldve easily been 20pgs less than what it was! lol But either way once the fight did get going it was a good one! I even loves how after the witch was defeated that Bran wasnt in his right mind and Anna ad to calm him down.

I really dont have a snib bit for you...I liked this story DONT get me wrong its just not one thing happened to jump out at me. I loved how after they gad sex they werent totally bonded (and they shouldve been). And later on once they connected more it finally sunk in but really there wasnt any poetic moment for me.

Overall I felt this was a pretty strong start to the series and I cant wait to read Hunting Ground! Anna and Charles are great together and I cant wait to continue their story!

I give this book a total of...

On the Prowl - Patricia Briggs, Eileen Wilks, Karen Chance & Sunny

Description~ These all-new paranormal romances from today's hottest authors feature a female werewolf who comes into her own; a Lord who crosses paths with a fiery mage; a mixed-blood Child of the Moon who faces an uncertain future; and a woman whose sixth sense proves to be a dangerous talent.

So first off I must tell you...this is a mini review b/c I only read Patricia Briggs short story. I was getting ready to start the Alpha and Omega series and knew this short story led up to the series. Also there will be spoilers.

In this story you meet Anna. Anna has only been a were for 3 years now and hasnt fallen into the best pack. Anna was forced to change which means she was hunted down, almost killed and woke up a monster. Anna thinks she is a submissive wolf but little does she know she is an Omega...almost like a powerful wolf that acts as submissive and can calm nerves. Anna learns this from the Marroks son Charles, that has come to Chicago to check on a plea from Anna. Annas pack is loosing many and gaining new weres quickly. Charles is quick to come to Anna rescue when he finds out that she is beaten, raped and starved on a regular basis. Charles wolf has taken Anna as mate as soon as he lays eyes on her...will Charles follow suit? Will Anna ever learn to trust another wolf when she has struggled for so long? And why is the pack changing so often? Somethings up and Anna and Charles are there to figure it out!

This short story was great! I loved it! First off I have to say that PB is one of my favs and I LOVE her Mercy Thompson series. I know right away that Id want to read this series b/c it takes place in Mercy's world!

Its super sad when you find out all the things that Anna has had to endure through her change. She has been raped, beaten and is as skinny as a pole! When her and Charles first met I was so excited b/c he immediately fell for her...or at least his wolf did. BUT Charles wasnt too far behind! He protects Anna from a few situations and soon lets her know that his wolf has taken her as mate! EPP!

The big issue in this story has to be the reasoning behind the changes in her pack... ***SPOILERS*** her Alphas mate has gone crazy with age therefore has been killing the women and him the males! They have made Anna think she is a submissive to calm the Alphas mate so matters would lesson. When Charles gets there and they attend their meeting with the Alpha shit hits the fan BUT Charles and Anna make it out alive. :o)

This story leads up to Cry Wolf (which Im reading now) and they start off a day from where they left off in the short story! Both characters are great and you get pulled in by their coming together! The relationship is still very new and even still pretty new in Cry Wolf.

If youre a fan of paranormal/fantasy that doesnt coat everything with romance this book is for you! I didnt have any problems with this book at all really it was short exciting and left me wanting more! :o)

I give this book a total of...
