Vision in White (The Wedding Quartet, Book 1) - Nora Roberts

Description~
Mackensie Mac Elliot loves capturing happy and playful moments with her camera, but her own life is all about work—until she meets English teacher Carter Maguire. He's escorting his bride-to-be sister to a meeting with the Vows team and recognizes Mac as the girl he crushed out on in high school. Funny sparks fly: he's a geeky guy who quotes Shakespeare, she's a trendy workaholic who loves shoes. He's crazy about her, which makes him verbally clumsy and, to Mac, charming, though she's saddled with a needy mother, an absent father and difficulties with both that make falling in love complicated.

Ok so I've NEVER read Nora Roberts and I have to say I was surprisingly pleased! This book was light and fluffy...kinda like a piece of wedding cake! ;o)

This story is about 4 friends who used to LOVE to play wedding and have since made it into their careers! Living in an old yet beautiful Victorian house, they have made an all-in-one wedding deal. Photo's, cakes, flowers and the very much needed coordinator has put them on the map as an up and coming venue for popular weddings! (btw Mac is the photographer)

So you meet Mackensie. Her absent father and crazed out mother have made her life a living hell. Mac's mom has married about 4 times and her father has basically replaced her for the perfect family. This in turn has effected Mac to the max! She doesn't believe in a HEA and that leads to big problems when she reunites with Carter Maguire.

Speaking of Carter...MAN DO I LOVE A HOT NERD! Carter is just what my doctor ordered. If you can't tell I adore nerds (my hubby Mike lol) and when he sees his long lost crush Mac it all comes back to him...his clumsy/nerdy ways. There is just something I love about Carter. He totally adores her ever move. He feel almost privileged to be in her presence! :o) Carter sees Mac while tagging along with his sister to her consult for her wedding at Vows (Mac and the girls wedding business). Mac isnt quite sure but she is intrigued by the guy who DIDNT catch her eye many years ago...well...he seems to be doing it now though! ;op

The story gets along pretty well and you start to seem the two form into a great relaxed relationship. They seem to balance each other pretty well! Mac is a free spirit and seems to bring out Carters wild side! :o) everything seems to go well until Mac gets wet feet and breaks it off...then to make matters worse she meets Carters ex and wants him back! lol I wont go into too much detail there (dont wanna spoil the entire story line for ya) but when all is well again there seems to still be the underlining draw back of her being scared to commit.

Will Mac be able to set all of her issues aside and let herself feel for once??? Will Carter be able to hold himself together enough to show his true side...the sexy teacher! grrr...lol

Before I show you this Snib Bit I wanted to tell ayll that its like the pivotal point of the story so don't read it if you think it will ruin your book experience. Form me it was just TOO GREAT to NOT put as the Snib Bit.

Snib Bit~

She walked back to take his face in her hands. "Carter Maguire, I love you."
As the fist around his heart clenched and released, he lowered his brow to hers. "Say it again, would you?"
"It's the first time I've said it to anyone-this way, I mean. I don't know why I thought it would be so hard. It's not. I love you. I love who we are together. I love who I think we might be. I screw up. So will you, you're not perfect. We'll hurt each other, and make each other laugh. We'll make love and we'll fight. I want us to promise to try no to let each other go. Trying is all we can do."
He met her lips with his. There was the promise, he thought. There was everything he's waited for, There was Mackensie, and she loved him.

So ya...I decided I really like Nora Roberts and I cant wait for the second story int his series...Bed of Roses. Its Emmas story! :o) EPP!

I give this book a total of...
