Blurb~ Nothing’s sexier than a man, or five, with power tools.
Sultry summer heat has nothing on the five-man crew renovating the house next door. No one could blame Kate for leaning out the window for a better view of the manscape. The nasty fall that follows isn’t part of her fantasy—but the man who saves her from splattering the sidewalk is definitely the star.
When Mike personally attends to her injuries, she realizes her white knight in a hard hat has a tender side, giving her no choice but to surrender to the lust that’s been arcing between them since day one. In the aftermath of the best sex of her life, she whispers her most secret desire: to be ravaged by his crew.
She never expected Mike would dare her to take what she wants—or that the freedom to make her most decadent desires come true could be the foundation for something lasting…
Ok this one will be a quicky...kinda like this book! lol It really took me one hour to read it! lol
So Kate friends 5 guys remodeling a house next door to her. One guy in particular has taking a liking to her and when she falls out of her window trying to check out the man meat next door he tends to her wounds himself! ;o) She quickly finds herself in the middle of a boys gone wild show leaving her yearning for way more than what she expected to get!
Alright...I commend ANYONE who a) Can write and get published & b) Can read books that don't pull at your heart strings b/c I cant do either! lol This book (to me) was too unconnected and smutty for my taste...ok youre saying "well duh Monroe its Erotica...come on 5 dudes and one chick...what did you think was gonna happen"? BUT let me remind you that just b/c its wild and crazy doesnt meant that the author cant lure us in with some great romance. Look at what Maya Banks did with Colters Woman...she still managed to show a great bond between all the lovers...it was HOT SEXY and STILL LOVING!
In this book you get thrown into a mixture of basically lust and not so much love. Some may not mind that HOWEVER I DO! I need to feel connected with SOMEONE!!! Mike and Kate meet and kinda fall for each other but you never really felt a connection other than lust. Then she get with his crew and the crew gets with each other (which btw was my first m/m I had ever read lol). Idk it was a bit too much for me and I like to think Im opened minded in my books!
Oh and one more thing...in sex scenes I hate when authors are too wordy. Sometimes saying less is more...like using the word labia cracks me up! lol dumb it down...it works better for me! ;o)
Ok so ill break it down for you like this...if you are looking for something hot and lustful BUT without any connection to romance this one would be for you...otherwise skip over this one.
Blurb~ ELIZABETH CAMERON The Countess of Havenhurst possessed a rare gentleness and fierce courage to match her exquisite beauty. But her reputation is shattered when she is discovered in the arms of Ian Thornton, a notorious gambler and social outcast.
IAN THORNTON A dangerously handsome man of secret wealth and mysterious lineage, his voyage to Elizabeth's heart is fraught with intrigue, scandal, and a venomous revenge.
Destined for each other, yet wary of each other's motives, Elizabeth and Ian engage in a dance of suspicion and passion that tests the very soul of their star-crossed love. As a twisting path of secrets takes them from London's drawing rooms to the mysterious Scottish Highlands, Elizabeth must learn the truth: is Ian merely a ruthless fortune hunter at heart?
WHAT A BOOK! Ian meets the sweet and innocent Elizabeth Cameron at her first time coming into court. Elizabeth needs to find a husband to help save her very much in debt family…Ian needs to seduce Elizabeth at first site. But later, at a weekend getaway, when the two fall into each others arms they get more than they bargained for…love. Ian doesn’t know what hit him and Elizabeth…well how is she going to explain to her FIANCE that she’s just been found in the arms of another man?!?! After broken engagement…a few broken hearts…and years later they are faced once again by some extreme odds. Will that flame spark between the two again…or will the hatred of two broken hearts keep them apart?
Ok this was a GREAT book so Im gonna give a small run through without TOTALLY giving things away so it makes you wanna read it! ;op~
So lets begin by talking about why Elizabeth is forced into marriage a few times in this book. B/c really it is the root of the problems that arise…first off her parents are dead. BUT of course they left behind all sorts of gambling debts. So Elizabeth’s half brother Roberts try’s to talk her into marrying to save the household. Elizabeth is extremely beautiful so it shouldn’t be a hard task…in fact she had about 15 offers within only a few short week! But once she goes to a weekend at a questionable womans house she meets Ian and things fly right out the door. Of course she tries to keep her head on straight but when Ian pushes and pushes she falls under his spell. I love how innocent Elizabeth is in this book. At one point (way later) she talks about how babies are made…you lay in bed and kiss! Lol LOVE IT! Ok anyways like I said before they get caught together and Elizabeth is ruined…looses her fiancé (that Ian didn’t know about) and goes back home broken hearted. But so does Ian! He confessed his love to her! Which was quick but very strong.
Did I mention there’s a duel??? Oh yes a duel!! Its between Robert and Ian!!! I wont tell you how that plays out but its pretty amusing! ;op
Ok years later a still ruined Elizabeth is alone…her brother has abandoned her and now her uncle is forcing her to marry. He calls upon all her old callers and Ian gets thrown into the mix once again! Basically her uncle is trying to now sell her to the highest bidder and Elizabeth constructs a plan with an old friend (Alexandra from Something Wonderful) to sabotage all her callers! When she finally gets to Ian hes furious and hates the bare site of her. But under that hot gaze of his she starts to feel the spark that once lit her on fire!
They go through the mating dance (man I read too many paranormals lol) and start back on the track of getting Elizabeth back into society etc…BUT when a unsuspecting Robert shows back up one step away from his death bed Elizabeth is forced once again to make a decision that will rock everyones world…can she trust Roberts word when he says Ian is the root of all his misfortunes…or is Robert trying to get even?!?!
Torn between family and love…this book was a gem! I loved every step I took with Elizabeth! She has so many trust issues in this book you would think it would drive you insane but it doesn’t! This girl goes from innocent to knowledge in less than 300 pages! I love in JM’s books that the characters ALWAY grows so much! Both Ian and Elizabeth learn lessons…I laughed (a lot) I cried (ok I got teary) and I got HOT HOT HOT! ;o)
GO GET IT!!! You will be glad you did! ;o)
I give this book a total of...
***Additional note*** lol ok ok THIS is the new cover...I dont want ANYONE passing this book up! ;o)
Blurb~ Emily is an advertising executive who is marketing the perfume Sizzle. Richard is the number cruncher who has to keep Emily within her budget. When Emily and Richard get together they are so hot they sizzle. The problem is, Richard has selective hearing. When Emily decides to fight for her love by curing his deafness things really reach boiling point...
Ok guys...being JC's new book came out this month I had to go back to where it all began! WITH SIZZLE! lol This was Jennys first novella to write and while she doesn't totally shun this book she doesn't quite claim it either. Dont believe me...here are her words on the book! lol
DO NOT ASK FOR A SIZZLE REPRINT. That damn book is following me around the way early porn films follow actresses.
While I dont feel as strongly apposed to this story as Ms. Crusie I have to say there were so flaws.
The story is stated pretty plain and simple...Emily is a marketing agent for some perfume called Sizzle. Emily has a tendency to go over budget therefore her boss assigned her a partner (in comes sexy hotshot Richard) to aid in her problem areas. And boy does she have some areas that need attention ;o) lol
From the get go Emily isnt to excited to have a partner, especially one that acts as a parent to her and never listens. BUT the bigger issue is Emily is wildly attracted to Richard. And as you start to see Richard cant seem to keep his mind on work. The two start to get things rolling but Emily notices a problem...Richard never seems to listen. At work OR in bed. He makes all of Emilys decisions and actually seems to not even notice her talking at times.
So basically this short story is about Emily getting Richard to listen up so they can be equals in their relationship...that quickly turns to an engagement.
Highlights~ Like all of JC's books her heroine is strong willed, sexy and smart. You always seem to laugh at the wittiness of JC's characters and just b/c this is her first go doesnt mean your let down! The story was short - yes but you get the idea of the problem and everything pretty much gets summed up by the end.
Low Points~ On the other hand b/c this is such a short story you felt quite rushed at times. You know the H/H falling in love SO quickly and then turning engaged! Now I understand in the world of novellas this is totally common but I wouldve rather them just stayed in their relationship. Maybe it wouldve felt a bit more believable. Another issue was you never got into the heros head. You were in Emilys POV the entire time so to me that kept me a bit disconnected from Richards character. My last issue was (and this is nit picky) that the plot was a bit of a stretch! I mean the issue was a man that didnt pay attention to his woman. Not the normal guy "not paying attention" I mean to him Emily was talking and looking at him and he was dead to the world...and the way she supposedly "fixed" the problem...well I didnt see how that worked but I guess in their world it did! lol But afterall it is fiction...what more could I ask for right?!?! ;o)
Now dont get me wrong...just b/c my low points were longer than my highs doesnt mean this wasnt a good book. It was very Jenny Crusie-ish lol Her typical stuff I guess just not NEARLY as developed as normal. If you get a chance to get your grubby little hands on this one keep it b/c its a hard one to find! :o)

Blurb~ AN ALLURING LAIRD He was known throughout the kingdom as Hawk, legendary predator of the battlefield and the boudoir. No woman could refuse his touch, but no woman ever stirred his heart—until a vengeful fairy tumbled Adrienne de Simone out of modern-day Seattle and into medieval Scotland. Captive in a century not her own, entirely too bold, too outspoken, she was an irresistibly challenge to the sixteenth-century rogue. Coerced into a marriage with Hawk, Adrienne vowed to keep him at arm's length—but his sweet seduction played havoc with her resolve.
A PRISONER IN TIME She had a perfect "no" on her perfect lips for the notorious laird, but Hawk swore she would whisper his name with desire, begging for the passion he longed to ignite in her. Not even the barriers or time and space could keep him from winning her love. Despite her uncertainty about flowing the promptings of her own passionate heart, Adrienne's reservations were no match for Hawk's determination to keep her by his side...
Alright...this was an audio book so MAYBE thats why I my score lacked for this one...ok I'm gonna list this one out b/c in my mind that's the only way I can reason the book.
***SPOILERS***
~Likes~ - Ive only read ONE time travel book (Time Travelers Wife...my FAV book) and I think it would be hard for it not to be corny...this book WAS NOT corny at all! It was exciting, sexy and intriguing. - I LOVE two men fighting over one woman! In this book there is a fae (Adam) and Hawk (the laird) fighting over Adrienne's heart. Hawk wants to seduce his wife and win her heart even though shes lusts for Adam (well actually both men). Makes for hot fights! ;o) - I love that the book has magic in it...obviously their were fae in the book so we get a mystical feel to everything. That's how Adri ended up in the 1500's! ...and how she goes back :'( You get to know the when and why Adri goes from the 1990's to the 1500's and it all ties into the fae! So that was something different...its was like a contemporary (Adrienne) meets historical (Hawk) meets fantasy (Adam) lol ~Dislike~ - Ok I must say...I was driving to Florida listening to this and if I had to hear "But who are you REALLY" or "I hate beautiful men" one more time I was going to end my life by running into a tree!!! UGH! This was pretty annoying! AND repetitive!!! - As much as I loved Hawk, Adri was a bit ANNOYING! Her reasoning for SO MANY THINGS was ridiculous! She was "burnt" by her ex lover so she hated beautiful men, she was yes and no about the Hawk situation, she would say ADAMS NAME while getting kinky with Hawk...idk it was a bit frustrating. And not the frustrating of your normal book...liek you want the chick to get over her crap to get with the hero...it was just plain FRUSTRATING! - The readers voice...omg...at one point he meowed like a cat and I about busted a gut. His girl voice SUCKED and was a tad annoying BUT I will say his guy voice was pretty yummy! lol Overall I just think I wouldve been better off reading it myself.
So overall I think it was a decent book. My downfall was that I found myself looking at the characters through the readers eyes and not my own. You know you picture your characters a certain way and give them their own "voice" and that was sorta forced on me...it being read to me and all. BUT I will say I enjoyed the story and would continue to look into the rest of the books! :o) Also I loved that I got a book "read" while traveling! Audio books are a pretty cool thing!
I give this book a total of...

Blurb~ Rory Kincaid, who hails from a decadent family of actors, is intent on being sponsored as the Blue party senate candidate and salvaging his tarnished name. His straightlaced political ambitions are threatened, however, when he meets curvy Jilly Skye, an eccentric but compassionate vintage clothes retailer. Despite their spurious relationship, Rory and Jilly must fight their strong attraction to each other in order to save themselves from what they believe would be their downfall--his to scandal and hers to love.
So I guess you can say I'm gonna be on a Christie Ridgway kick! lol Ive read a few other books by her and found them to be light, fluffy and funny! ;o) So what do yall think of these books?
Description~ In a split second they were gone . . . A tragic accident took everything that mattered to Rome Matthews -- his wife, Diane, and their two little boys. And it robbed Sarah Harper of her best friend. In the two years since the tragedy, Sarah has wanted to reach out to Rome, but she knew she needed to stay away, guarding the secret she had kept from him and Diane all those years -- that she was in love with her best friend's husband.
But now Rome needs her. And though another woman will hold his heart forever, Sarah agrees to be his wife, knowing that everything has a price, including love. Then something totally unexpected rekindles her hidden hope that a marriage of convenience will become a union of love. Will Rome keep fighting his own growing need for a woman who dares him to believe there are second chances in life . . . or will he give in to the healing power of love and miracles?
Alright…Ill begin with saying I gobbled this book up in one full day! Start to finish baby…it was great!
Sarah fell for Rome the minute she seen him years ago when both were right out of college…problem was Rome fell for Sarah’s best friend Diane. Rome and Diane lived happily ever after…until one day taking their kids out Diane and both boys get struck by a drunk driver and die. About a year later while cleaning out the house to sell Rome calls Sarah to go through some of Diane’s stuff…Diane and Sarah were more sisters than friends so the fact she loved…yes LOVED Rome was a terrible secret to have to keep. But she did none the less. Once faced with Rome again all those old time feelings came back. What she didn’t expect was that her feelings were reciprocated! As both struggle with this new found relationship we get to see many many emotions!
I refuse to do spoilers for this book…EXCEPT THIS ONE…Rome ends up (within the first quarter of the book) asking Sarah to marry him! He felt it was his duty to take care of Sarah b/c she meant SO MUCH to his dead wife. I tell you this b/c this book is SO MUCH MORE than about him asking her. It digs a lot deeper into the lives…the SOULS of these characters! This book is about moving on with your life even when you want to curl up and die!
I really just recommend you to read this. I’ve read a ton of reviews putting this book down. I think it takes a good author to portray a new love while keeping the love of a deceased still in the hearts of the characters. LH did a wonderful job so here is a great little snippet to dampen your pallet!
Snippet~ "Sarah Harper," she said briskly. "Sarah, this is Rome," a deep voice said by way of identification. Her heart gave a jump and hung in her throat. She didn't need to hear his name to know who was on the other end of the line. She knew his voice as well as she knew her own, and the clipped accent that hadn't softened despite years in the south would always give him away. But she swallowed the lump, straightened her spine, and pretended this was just another business call. "Yes, Mr. Matthews?" He made an impatient sound. "Damn it, don't call me that! It's all right in the office, but this...this isn't business." Sarah swallowed again, but she couldn't say anything. Had she conjured him up? Had thinking about him produced this call? After all, it had been months since he'd said anything to her other than a polite "good morning" whenever he came into the office to talk to Mr. Graham. "Sarah?" He was really impatient now, and his rising ire was revealed in the way he barked her name. "Yes. I'm still here," she managed. "I'm selling the house," he said abruptly. "I'm boxing up Diane's things...and the boys'.... I'm going to give them all to the Salvation Army. But I found a box of things that Diane had kept from high school, stuff that the two of you did together, pictures, and I thought you'd like to go through it. If you want any of it, you can have it. If not...." He didn't finish the sentence, but she knew. If not, then he'd burn it. He'd take all of those memories and destroy them. She winced inside at the thought. "Yes," she said hoarsely, forcing the word out. "Yes, I want it." "I'm about to leave now, to go to the house and finish packing. You can get the box anytime tonight." "I'll be there. Thank you," she whispered, and he hung up, leaving her with the phone still pressed to her ear and the dial tone buzzing. Her hand was shaking as she replaced the receiver, and suddenly she noticed that she was no longer sitting. At some point during the conversation, tension had propelled her to her feet. Quickly she leaned down to get her purse from the lower drawer of the desk, then locked the desk and turned out the lights, locking the door behind her as she left. It wasn't only her hand that was shaking; her entire body was quivering. Talking with Rome always did that to her. Even after years of training herself not to think about him, of not allowing herself to even dream about him, just hearing his voice had the power to reduce her to jelly. Working for the same company was bad enough; she'd even transferred to a different department so she wouldn't see him as often, but that had eventually backfired on her: He'd been promoted steadily through the ranks and was now one of the corporate vice presidents. Her position as secretary to the senior vice president threw her constantly into contact with him; the only salvation she'd had was that his attitude toward her was strictly business, and she'd forced herself to treat him in the same manner. What else could she do, when she'd been foolish enough to fall in love with her best friend's husband?

Description~ Separated from her son and forced to create a neural implant that will mean the effective enslavement of her psychically gifted race, Ashaya Aleine is the perfect Psy--cool, calm, emotionless...at least on the surface. Inside, she's fighting a desperate battle to save her son and escape the vicious cold of the PsyNet. Yet when escape comes, it leads not to safety, but to the lethal danger of a sniper's embrace.
DarkRiver sniper Dorian Christensen lost his sister to a Psy killer. Though he lacks the changeling ability to shift into animal form, his leopard lives within. And that leopard's rage at the brutal loss is a clawing darkness that hungers for vengeance. Falling for a Psy has never been on Dorian's agenda. But charged with protecting Ashaya and her son, he discovers that passion has a way of changing the rules...
Oh dear…I think this one rates right up there with the first book in the Psy/Changling series!! This book was HOT TO TROT!
We met Dorian a few books back. His sister got tortured and murdered by Enrique, a member of the Psy council. So when Dorian is forced to watch over Ashaya and her son Keenan (aka K-man) after escaping her community tempers flair!
Ashaya lived her entire life trying to keep her son safe from the council. She rarely even seen the boy b/c he was kept caged up (but safe) in exchange for Ashaya’s scientific work. She sets it up to where Dorian and the other cats get K-man out and away. Now safe in the arms of the cats both Ashaya and K-man are on the run from being sought out…not only by the council but Ashayas CrAzEd twin sister. Who will reach them first…the council? Her twin? Or Dorian and his lust?
Ashaya wants to expose the Psy council for the murderers they really are…so you would think her and Dorian would get along right?!?! WRONG! Dorian sees Ashaya as the cold Psy that killed his sister and Ashaya sees Dorian as a treat to her hold on Silence. In the last book Ashaya and Dorian met briefly when she helped get Talin her kids back. With a gun to her head Dorian felt the rage inside…yet couldn’t pull the trigger. This pull back and forth continues into Hostage of Pleasure. The cat in Dorian wants to play yet the man wants to KILL! EPP! So needless to say, there are a ton of fights in which both parties end up getting hurt. Dorian makes it his personal promise to not only break this cold woman before him but to bring her to his bed!
This book was great! Its was very real (besides the changelings etc lol). Dealing with the loss of a loved one can hit you big time…and boy do you feel for Dorian in this book! I thought it was super touching how Ashaya was able to reach out of her Psy shell to help him grieve and get over his hurt. In the same aspect Dorian was able to get to Ashayas level of thought about her twin seeking out to kill her. See her sister isn’t right in the noggin ;o) so it didn’t feel right just thinking they would take her out. Ashaya wanted more than anything to keep her sister safe but at the same time she had to worry about her son K-man.
Another cool thing I didn’t really mention in the last review was how much the larger story was growing. The Psy community is slowly breaking down and everyone is seeing small fractures…places to take advantage. We meet this new secretive human alliance that goes to attack Ashaya! We don’t find out too much but we know they wanted to keep her alive…for what…idk?!?! So that’s pretty exciting to see new people coming into the picture! Will the “weak” humans come out on top of this all out war??? Who knows!
Snippet~ He sat back on his haunches and watched her get back up into a sitting position. Her eyes went to his handiwork. “You’ve had some training.”
He bit back the urge to snarl at her frigid tone. The ice of it was a fist around his cock, arousing him against all reason, all sense. “First aid.” He shrugged, stuffed everything back into her pack, then paused. “You need anything from here?”
“Everything.”
“Tough.” He did up the straps. “I have to carry you as it is—”
“I can—”
“Yeah, you can crawl,” he snapped, “but that isn’t going to get me home in time to catch a few z’s.” And nowhere near fast enough to contain the leopard’s enraged attempts at exploding from within his skin. He couldn’t shift, had never been able to. But the cat didn’t know it was trapped. Right now, it wasn’t even sure if it wanted to savage Ashaya or f**k her. “Since I can’t dump you here, I might as well get rid of you as fast as I can.”
It was a deliberate attempt to provoke, but her face, a face that had haunted his dreams for two months, remained expressionless. Two damn months, he thought again. Endless nights of waking in a sweat, frustrated and hard. And angry, so angry. The sole thing that had kept him from going out and hunting her down had been an enraged defiance against a sexual pull that had begun to turn into an obsession.
Now here she sat, looking up at him with those eyes that were the wrong color—and that blatant lie only stoked his fury.
“You have a lot of antipathy toward me.”
No, what he had was a bad case of lust. But he wasn’t an animal in rut. And his one stupid, drunken mistake in college aside, he didn’t sleep with women who might just freeze his balls off in the night. “I’m going to stash your pack up in the branches. The lynx won’t come near it now that it has my scent on it. Someone can grab it for you tomorrow.”
Ashaya didn’t argue, knowing she had nothing with which to bargain. “Another debt?” She’d recognized his voice at once as that of the sniper. After all, she’d been hearing it in her dreams for eight long weeks.
“Don’t worry. We’ll collect.” With those words, he shrugged into the pack and began climbing.
She couldn’t believe the way he moved. It was so smooth, it appeared effortless. He was ten times faster than she had been, a hundred times more graceful. If she’d had any doubts as to what he was, they would’ve been wiped away by that display. “Changeling,” she said as he jumped back down. “Cat.”
He raised an eyebrow, his eyes a pitiless blue so true—even in this darkness—that she wondered at its existence. “Meow.”
Something hidden sparked to life in her mind, and she found herself thinking that the sniper was beautiful. Darkness, she’d always cloaked him in darkness, but he was a golden god. “How did you know I was here?” Her breath came in pants as she managed to get to her feet, one hand braced against the tree trunk. Her palm landed on something sticky. Her own blood, she realized.
“I’m an F-Psy.” A mocking answer. “You’re going to have to ride on my back. Try not to stab me while you’re at it.” He came to her, turned.
The instant she put her hands on his shoulders, she froze. She hadn’t had this much close contact with another being for longer than she could remember. Even with Keenan, she’d kept her distance, aware that only Silent coldness would keep him safe. But there was no point of comparison between her weakness where Keenan was concerned and this changeling who seemed to despise her.
And yet who fascinated her on a level it was madness to even consider.
Next is Mercys book and I know she gets with a wolf so Im pretty pumped! Look for that review within the next month…I could seriously eat these books UP!
Description~ Daisy Flattery is an incorrigible free spirit with a soft spot for strays and a weakness for a good story and a bit of adventure. Why else would she agree to the outrageous deal offered by her button-down, workaholic neighbor Linc Blaise? The history professor is desperately in need of a fiancée to capture a dream job at a local college—and Daisy is up for the challenge. But something funny happens on their way to the altar that breaks all the rules and changes the game. Falling in love was never part of the bargain. Their little charade has taken in everyone—including themselves. Now with the proverbial midnight hour approaching will the fairytale finally be over or will opposites not just attract but live happily ever after?
I must admit…this is a typical Jenny Crusie book…quirky yet lovable character falls for uptight and snooty counter part! Lol BUT BUT BUT it totally works! JC NEVER gets old to me and in this little gem she shines!
Linc (like I said) is a bit snooty and uptight. He has lied to a potential employer about his marital status to get a teaching job at a college! Linc is frantically trying to think of just the right woman to pose as his wife…in walks Daisy. Daisy is Lincs erratic upstairs neighbor whos recently quit her job to peruse painting! When Daisy sees this as an opportunity to get the rent paid she jumps on board with Linc and his charade! Little did both know that a bit of each other ends up rubbing off and they find themselves dealing with a love that runs deeper than any façade. What happens when time runs out on their Cinderella Deal??? Will the shoe fit or will all be forgotten at the stroke of midnight?
This was such an adorable book! Ok so like you read above Daisy decides to take Linc up on his offer. So they go down to the college, introduce her to everyone and he gets the gig! Great right…WRONG! After he gets the job and moves they both sorta start to miss each others company. They fought constantly but it only made them bend to each others different ways. Well so when people start to ask around where his wife is he starts to question if he should make the jump to REALLY marry her…WHICH HE DOES! Lol I just knew this was a recipe for disaster b/c how would you marry someone for a year then split without a thought…well you don’t! The story quickly turns into Daisy and Linc not only falling in love with the town and its people but with each other! :*)
I love books where opposites attract and this one is a prime example. Linc and Daisy made such a funny couple! Linc is very traditional and plain so when that meets up with Daisys wild and outrages personality things go haywire! From the wedding planning, the in-laws and the animals this book was a wild little ride!
My fav part~ Daisy being the artist she is decides to “redecorate” their house…well when Linc gets home he sees all this holey furniture and crazy colors. He TOTALLY flips hurting Daisys feelings. This is a great overall example of the book b/c once he realizes how hes hurt Daisy (by seeing what those things meant to her) he made amends. He learned to think outside the box and see beauty where it truly is…from within.
Daisy crawls her way into his heart in more ways than one. She takes care of his sick mother, and him when hes sick, his students come over to help her around the house or to just hang out, and she even gets to be close friends with the deans wife! By the end of the book she starts to be who she thinks everyone else wants her to be but Linc shows her he loves her how she is! :o) This book warmed my heart but also made me laugh (like JC always does)!
Oh my Snippet is Linc describing Daisy! LOL!!!! It’s the beginning of chapter one and it totally cracked me up!
Snippet~ The storm raged dark outside, the light in the hallway flickered, and Lincoln Blaise cast a broad shadow over the mailboxes, but it didn’t matter. He knew by heart what the card on the box above his said:
Daisy Flattery
Apartment 1B
Stories Told, Ideas Illminated
Unreal but Not Untrue
Linc frowned at the card, positive it didn’t belong on a mailbox in the dignified old house he shared with three other tenants. That was why he’d rented the apartment in the first place: it had dignity. Linc liked dignity the way he liked calm and control and quiet. It had taken him a long time to get all of those things into his life and into one apartment. Then he’d met his downstairs neighbor.
His frown deepened as he remembered the first time he’d seen Daisy Flattery in the flesh, practically hissing at him as he shooed a cat away from his rebuilt black Porsche, her dark, frizzy hair crackling around her face like lightning. Later sightings hadn’t improved his first impression, and the memory of them didn’t improve his mood now. She wore long dresses in electric colors, and since she was tall, they were very long, and she was always scowling at him, her heavy brows drawn together under that dumb blue velvet hat she wore pulled down around her ears even in the summer. She looked like somebody from Little House on the Prairie on acid.
“What happened to you” she asked sadly, lamenting the loss of the comfort she once felt with him.
“The blinders were torn from me, Pel. And I saw what I was missing.”
The Stranger I Married - Sylvia Day
A total waste of my time. Eh...I would read it maybe if I didn't have anything else to read. I liked it even though it had room for improvements. You should go by this book! It was entertaining and very worth it! SUPERB WRITING! You wont be disappointed! Go get it!
