Outcast (The Cat Star Chronicles, Book 4) - Cheryl Brooks

Blurb~
Sold into slavery when his planet was destroyed, Lynx was enslaved in a harem. He is a favorite due to his feline gene, which gives him remarkable sexual powers, but after ten years, Lynx is exhausted.

Thrown out without a penny, Lynx is bitter and anti-female. He emigrates to a new planet but can only find a job with a female rancher.

Bonnie's boyfriend has left with all their money and she needs help with the ranch. Lynx is cynical, but honest, and though he has made it clear that he wants no part of a romantic relationship, Bonnie can't resist him. She finds out about his impotence and becomes determined not to let such a beautiful and sensual young man go to waste...

*sigh...ok ok...yall know I don't hate on authors or books in general and I'm not going to hate on this book BUT I am going to say it just was NOT for me AT ALL! Oh btw TOTAL SPOILERS!!!

Bonnie was with this dude who impregnated her and left her...in comes Lynx. Lynx was sold into slavery and was basically used for sex. Obviously he hates it now and anything that goes along with it. So when he takes on a job at Bonnie's farm, and she show favor to him he turns the other way! Bonnie's wants him (and he wants her) but he cant help but feel disgusted at the thought of someone loving him...mainly b/c he doesn't think anyone honestly could. Bonnie's baby daddy comes back and all heck breaks loose. By then Lynx and Bonnie love each other...Lynx kills dude...The End.

Odd thing...I liked these characters...or maybe I wanted to like them...idk I'm 100% on the fence about this book. I have to say the most "out there" books Ive read (talking about different worlds etc) have been the Black Jewel books by Anne Bishop so at first I was like well maybe I'm not understanding all the different worlds and aliens etc but really the Black Jewel books can be difficult to understand and this book is nothing in comparison. So I don't think I was confused about the setting.

I think the story in general just wasn't compelling to me...ya that's it...it was somewhat predictable...it didn't really excite me. I found it easy to put down really and that is sometimes what I base a main part of my ratings on. So further more I just think this one was a miss for me...maybe you'll like it. Ive actually heard good things about this series but I just couldn't get into it! =) Better luck next time eh?!?!?

I give this book a total of...
