Alright I must admit Ive been B-U-S-Y lately! Between church, reading for Breezing Through, work and planning a vacation Ive been POOPED! I mean really it seems its been taking me longer and longer to read books lately...and now...we bought Rock Band! lol Which btw Im totally obsessed! lol

But Im back (as of the moment) and as you can tell Ive been on a YA kick lately!!! So here is a short and sweet review of the two latest House of Night books Ive read! =)

Ok so the big secret is out! The big bad Kalona is out and has the hots for Zoey! He is in and out of her dreams confusing her with feelings she thinks either her or her reincarnated self may have. Kalona is also tricking all the kids at the House of Night school! It seems as of late they have fog vision and dont really mind that he came out of the bloody ground! The students are also still under Neferets spell...and you wonder if Stark is the baddy hes made out to be.

Speaking of Stark...Mmmm...Stark! lol So ya he shot Stevie Ray and all but he DID miss her heart and we KNOW he has to have feelings for Z. Later on we find out that he in fact does and fights being a baddy as much as Stevie Ray and the other red vamps did! He redeems himself by pledging himself to Zoey as her protector. They start to quickly form their bond that was once lost.

BUT Eric (aka the piss-ant) pitches a fit b/c Zoey is "his"...well Z doenst take kindly to being claimed and dumps his nappy booty! He in trun shows his true colors by being a totally jerk and getting with one of the red vamps! *eye roll! I mean i was upset when i found out they were gonna break up but when he basically called her a whore I forgot his name...Eric who!??!

Ok onward...so ya Kalona is getting all up int Z's dreams after she scared him off which leads everyone to an island to face him head on! Once there they go before the "head vamps" and try to get them to realize Neferet is the goddess Nyx. While staying on the island Heath gets his neck snapped and dies! Ok that seriously broke my heart...and even more is that Z's soul shatters and we leave her seeing Heath in the otherworld.

Will Z ever get back to her world???

Ok I totally jumped around so much it wasnt even funny! lol Hunted was a bit of a filler book in my eyes...things started to really heat up in Tempted. Ive said this a million times that these are the most "young adult" books out there so dont let the category fool you! These are awesome books!

One thing I have to say though is that lately Vampire Academy has been shinning through more for me. I think its because its a bit more adult...idk...you dont have those really cheesy high school moments too often. =)

SO overall these two books were as usual great!!! I love HoN and I love PC & Kristen Cast!

Obviously Lily is dumbfounded by Cam being interested in her and is shocked to find out that hes an entire 10 years younger than her. This immediately throws a flag in Lilys face and she tried to play everything off as an innocent game. BUT Cam isnt used to being told no to. Will he win her over before his time is up? Will Lily be able to get over her age issues and understand that age is but a number?

This entire book is a cat and mouse game that leaves you breathless till the very end! The bedroom action between Lily and Cam is red hot! The two fall into step pretty fast and form a bond quite nicely. Lily has a few issues to get over before shes ready to face the fact that what the two have is real. This is a story of first love is the hottest way possible!

Oh God. She was really there, staring at him, and he -- bless his gorgeous face -- he looked happy to see her. Looking at his smile, she suddenly felt out of her element again and for some reason not quite up to the dress code in her denim knee-length skirt and brown hoodie. Her pink painted toes curled under as she shifted her weight nervously from one foot to the other in the cute, sparkly flip-flops Alli had talked her into wearing. But there wasn't a dress code, given that he was in faded, threadbare jeans with holes in the knees and one of the back pockets ripped at the seams. His T-shirt was black with a washed-out logo she couldn't make out, and his sneakers had seen much better days. Still, she felt uncertain about how she looked to him standing there while they stared at each other.

He stopped in front of her. "You're here."

"Yes. I-I hope it's okay that I just showed up like this without calling first."

"Yep. I'm glad you're here. I can stop checking my phone every thirty seconds now."

Checking his phone? Was he serious? Surely not. "I-I'm sure you have things to do. I just wanted to…" Lily hated that she was stumbling all over herself and couldn't seem to get a string of words to come out in some semblance of order and make sense. The man had her all tongue-tied and she wished she hadn't had that particular thought, because she would love to be tongue-tied, naked, and wrapped around him.

He had to stop looking at her like he wanted to devour her. "I have nothing else that I'm needed for until tomorrow, so that means I'm all yours tonight."

"Oh." She likely hadn't hidden the surprise at his choice of words, because he laughed. All hers? Yeah, right. In what universe was a man like Cam Carter ever going to be "all hers"?

"You like that idea."

"Well, yes, of course. How could I not?" She'd play along, though. How often did an average, ordinary music teacher and orchestra member get this kind of opportunity? "I'd be crazy to not want you all to myself."

"Great. Because that's how I want you." He stepped closer and lifted his hand, then traced the outline of her cheekbone, causing her breath to catch in her throat. "I want you all to myself."

He was going to kiss her. She knew it because he took off his sunglasses, because the pulse beat in his neck had kicked into high gear, because his lips actually brushed hers. Oh. My. God. He's too young. He's too young. He's too young.

Everything flew away in the breeze when she let herself get swept up in the softness of his lips, the insistent tip of his tongue, the feel of his hand sliding into her hair, holding her mouth to his. So once again Im back to the Psy/Changeling series!! Yip yip theses books have been oh so good to me! ;o) I have to say that this book didn’t excite me as quick as the others but it did (by the middle) hype me up!

We met Brenna in the first book of the series! She was one of the Changelings to get kidnapped and tortured! There was a team that went in and saved her and among that team was a certain Psy that lives among the Changelings. Judd Lauren was an arrow Among the Psy…basically an assassin. When things didn’t go his way he decided to leave the Psy and take his family with him. He now lives among the Changelings (the wolves) and does work for Hawk, the pack leader.

Brenna and Judd have an attraction of course but Judd being Psy AND an Arrow on top of things makes him cold as ice (hence the books name lol). Brenna spends most the book trying to break his harsh exterior and also piss him off! Lol So her banter towards him made the book pretty funny! Judd always seemed to respond in a smart-assed way but only b/c hes Psy and they say it like it is.

The two start to bond more due to Brenna having a hard time getting over being “mind raped” by the killer a while back. Judd helps her through a few situations and you start to warm up to his character! When things start to get up close and personal with the two I began to get sexually frustrated! Lol The thing is touching her was almost a punishment to his body. Judd isnt not like a normally Psy where they would be just be uncomfortable… no his body literally would shut down or cause him immense pain. He knew if he wanted to be with her he would have to finally drop out of the Psy Net. This served as a problem b/c of his wild nature and need to kill.

This isn’t the only problem! Dead bodies are starting to come up among the community and Judd’s afraid Brenna might be the next victim. You find out that the killer had an accomplice! And this accomplice ISNT Psy!!! CRAZY!?!?! I totally didn’t see that one coming. And actually I have to admit I thought at one point her brothers were the killers! HA! Lol Alright im starting to ramble…ok anyways so the big objective is to stop the killings and figure out a way for the two to be together.

Like I said I really love NS and this was a great book once you got into the hairy parts but it just wasn’t my fav. I felt a bit disconnected from Judd. I think it has to do with him being Psy. I was used to the men being all animalistic in this series and going after what they wanted…breaking the shell of the Psy they wanted! YUM! So I guess overall I just prefer my men to be Changeling and not cold as ice! Lol ;o) Go get the book you wont be disappointed and it is after all part of an awesome series!

In my latest Dark Hunter book I got to meet Tabitha and Valerius (or Val as Tabby calls him). Tabitha, we’ve seen in prior DH books. Her twin sister is Amanda and also married to Kyrian…and if you don’t remember that story there Kyr basically got tortured by Val’s grandfather so needless to say Val and Kyr (and all Amanda’s fam) hates him. Also btw Val is Zareks brother…the one that always felt sorry for him but ended up getting him in more trouble. :o(

We find out quite a bit about Val and his story was VERY sad! His father treated him hardly any better than he treated his slave of a brother Zarek! As Val took pity on his poor beaten brother he got lick for lick from his brothers and father. In fact his brothers are who killed him. There was only one part of his life he cherished and that was a slave girl he fell in love with from afar. When his brother found out they raped and killed her in front of him then took his life! It was so tragic! Ever since Val was changed he has been a very cold person!

Things start to change when he gets mistaken by Tabitha, the great vampire hunter, for a Daemon. Tabby stakes Val then realizes he’s s Dark Hunter. Too soon to daylight she’s forced to take him back to her house/sex shop and wait till he wakes up from his injuries! When he wakes and they are face to face tempers flare b/c Tabby is so laid back and Val…well…is NOT! Lol He’s totally stuck up in Tabbys eyes yet she cant help but be attracted to him. As time passes the issue of him being the family enemy gets in the way even though she starts falling. And let me tell you when the fam finds out…you know the term ‘shit hits the fan’ well its perfect for this situation! Lol

I love how strong Tabby is in this book! I don’t really look to connect to all my characters in my books, but I think we all know it helps a bit. With Tabby I felt it easy to like her and relate. She is such a ballsy character and not extremely girly BUT she’s kinda like a little Buffy the Vampire Slayer! Lol It was great! Tabby is a funny and passionate girl that kicks ass! ;o)

I love how when Tabby and Val met they butted heads so much yet had the hardest time staying away. Tabby had a hard time trying to loosen Val up but it made for cute reading that was light hearted and touching. Tabby finds out about Vals past oddly enough from Zarek! Z tried to keep Tabby from Val by showing all the bad parts of their childhood but Tabby wasn’t fazed one bit! I must say it was nice that every aspect of the story was completed! I would’ve hated knowing Zarek still had hatred towards Val. When Z showed up for the wedding my heart leapt with joy!

OH and one thing to touch on…Nick…omg! He had sex with Simi and that was a shock! Ash FREAKS and tells Nick to always stay away from him! Later on we find out that the Daemons kills Nicks mom and Nick kills himself to become a Dark Hunter!!! I flipped and totally didn’t see that one coming! Nick and Ash are ok by the end of the book. Im anxious to continue Nicks story!!!

One odd thing was after Tabby and Val married (btw she has his soul but hasn’t finished giving it back to him) Tabby finds herself unable to kill Val…so who does?!?! Kyrian! WTH?!?! By this point they are all on…ok trems once Kyrian finds out he was crucified just about the same way he was and by the same bloodline! Well anyways Kyr runs into his house and like gets him with a sword and it forces tabby to finish the job! Idk it kinda felt rushed hpw it was like oh the 3rd or so page till the end. Idk…just awkward!

Snib-Bit~
Valerius was across the alley in microseconds as he saw a woman fall.
But then woman was back on her feet. She killed two more Daimons.
“Die Daimon snot!” The woman snarled at him an instant before she, too, stabbed him straight in the chest.
She pulled the dagger out instantly.
Valerius hissed and staggered back as pain ripped through his heart. He clutched at his chest, unable to think past the agony of it.
Tabitha bit her lip in terror as she saw the man recoil and not explode into dust.
“Oh, shit” she breathed, rushing to his side. Please tell me you’re some screwed up Dark-Hunter and that I didn’t just kill an accountant or lawyer.”
The man hit the street hard.
Tabitha rolled him over onto his back and checked his breathing. His eyes were partially opened, but he wasn’t speaking. He held his jaw clamped firmly shut as he groaned deep in his throat.
Terrified, she still wasn’t sure who she had mistakenly stabbed. Her heart hammering, she pulled up his turtleneck to see the nasty looking stab wound in the center of his chest.
And then she saw what she had hoped for...
He had a bow and arrow brand above his right hipbone.
“Oh thank God” she breathed as relief poured through her. He was in fact a Dark-Hunter and not some unfortunate human she’d stabbed.
She grabbed her phone and called Acheron to let him know one of his men had been hurt, but he didn’t answer.
So she started dialing her sister, Amanda until her common sense returned. There were only four Dark-Hunters in this city. Ash who led them. Janice whom she had met earlier. The former pirate captain, Jean-Luc and...
Valerius Magnus.
He was the only Dark-Hunter she didn’t know personally in New Orleans. And he was the mortal enemy of her brother-in-law.
She felt it deep inside.

Overall this was a great addition to the DH books and like I said I cant wait to read more about Nicky-poo! ;o)

Conrad hates what he is and does anything he can to get away. But when he sees something his brothers cant (Neomi) he is tempted to stay and become the man for her.

Will Conrad be blooded to his Neomi? How can he be with a woman he cant even tough? Will he ever come to terms with what he truly is now?

Wow...ok this was a pretty darn good book! I won this book on a blog not to long ago and everyone told me how wonderful Kresley Cole was so I decided to pick her up on a whim and boy was I ever glad I did!

This concept is pretty new to me. Ok Ive read about vamps before BUT this story is a bit off the scales for me. First off the vamp actually falls for a ghost! Ive never read about ghosts before and was curious on how they would have a HEA being...HELLO SHES DEAD...but of course they found a way around that obstacle and I might add it was somewhat smoothly done.

Let me go ahead and tell you that this review does contain spoilers so STOP READING if you dont wanna know the goods! Kay...kay! ;op

So let me get to the goods first...

This story itself was VERY imaginative! lol No, thats not a gentle way of saying it sucked or it was weird it was just different than any Black Dagger Brother or Dark Hunter book...it was somehow lighter. It had ghouls, witches, weres, shifters...etc but in a lighter sense. Idk its really hard to pinpoint exactly how to say it some I'm gonna have to just tell you that its just not your typical vampire romance!

One thing that was kinda the same was the vampire instinct to protect the female. Oh how I love how they react to their females!!! I loved how Conrad (once he found out he was blooded/mated to Neomi) was extremely protective! Putting his body in front of hers as a shield, fighting to save her life from demons...etc. He brought on the typical vampire male that you seek out in your paranormal romances! *sigh :o)

One twist I loved...until blooded, the vampire could NOT get an erection! EPPP! lol Which was cool b/c obviously Neomi and Conrad cant touch b/c shes a ghost so they describe what they would do to eachother...omg and let me tell you thats just as erotic as the real thing!!! BUT even though he was hot and bothered his body couldnt react to hers b/c she was dead. BUT when she got resurrected his body acted like any normal mated vamp and...boning...hard as a rock! lol (Did I really just say that?!?!)

A few things that I couldnt get over was that at some points I felt they were more friends than lovers. Idk I mean they did bond at times and she was helping him through his problems and just that there was an experience they shared BUT you didnt get TOO deep into the relationship that was Neomi and Conrad. Also I didnt care like that they throw the brothers in their...they get captured and he doesnt care...mind you he does start to care for the brothers at one point yet they totally fall off the scale for him. I even forgot about them! I felt KC shouldve kept them more into the story so you didnt feel so disconnected by the end. They were back in for 2.5 seconds then end of story. Idk its like she pulled out characters to help the story alogn but didnt finish the story on their side properly.

Lastly the thign that bothered me was that things KEPT happening to Neomi int eh end! It was like she was fine and alive and yet SOMETHING else would happen to her. Is she dead? Is she alive? Is she stabbed to death again...sheesh idk?!?! I felt there was SO MUCH drama pointed in her direction it made for an awkward ending. Only somewhat satisfying.

Besides feeling rushed with this book I actually thought it was cute...short but cute! The friendship between Carter and Dani is classic. You've seen stories like this before (or at least I know I have) and its very predictable HOWEVER it was still an amusing read that took only a few hours! So if its a Sunday and your looking for a cute quick read pick this one up! You won't regret it! :o)

Ok...I DID like this book...please don't get me wrong.

I loved how Talon was basically this man whore running around sleeping with anything that walked and then he meets his match. Sunshine! She was totally an independent girl that didn't take crap from noone. She was fine with the "hit it and quit it" rule. This made Talon twitch in the story and I LOVED THAT! lol He had never experienced that with any other woman. So that alone made the story interesting.

I thought his past was totally heart wrenching! Like most the Dark Hunter stories when sucked into the past you felt for all people involved. He lost SO MUCH love in this story and it really shaped him as a character. It made you understand more of why he didn't mind being with women so freely.

WHAT BOTHERED ME WAS...

Nothing BIG I guess but one thing was how you're starting to see the similarities in the stories. A pattern...now this wouldn't stop me from reading the books...at all. One example of what I mean is how you learn of their pasts. Its ALWAYS in a dream and the other person always has the dream with them. I wish SK could figure out a way to change that part up...and maybe she has, maybe I haven't gotten to those books yet. IDK

And my main issue (and why the book got some marks) was the ending kinda fell flat for me. Without giving anything away Ill say this...there were at least....what 5-7 Gods there, it was totally chaotic and there really wasn't "fighting" going on. It was a bunch of bickering between siblings basically. It just didn't live up to the ending I know it could have had.

Otherwise I did enjoy this book. Talon was HAWT and Sunshine was a strong gal. Would I recommend this book, yes...would I re-read it...ehhh...maybe...maybe not.

In the midst of a love affair Jaine and her friends make a 'Mr. Perfect' lists that lists all the qualities (honest and a bit outrageous) that they would want in their perfect man. Soon the media gets a hold of this list and not everyone is happy. One in particular person is ready for murder..When bodies start turning up Sam finds himself trying to fight to keep Jaine alive. Will Sam be able to keep Jaine alive long enough to get her down the aisle? And when the time comes will Jaine be able to run for her life?

I gotta say this is an exciting little book! At first I felt like I was waiting around for the "list" to be made but then again I must say that I am an extremely impatient little gal so its probably just me! lol But once it got made the ball started rolling! I totally loved the friendship between all 4 girls and even wished I had some friends to go out to eat and bitch with! lol the list is hilarious! Two words...10 inches!!! OMG! I'd run for the hills! lol So that right there proves the list is just great!...very humorous!

One thing that i love in romances is when a bit of mystery is tied in! It always makes the story exciting, edgy and suspenseful! And I have to admit I love cops! lol Sam being a cop and coming to "save the day' is just great. Sam is the type of guy that knows what he wants and will tell you outright! Hes very in-your-face and damn hot! ;o) I really enjoyed the part where Jaine wakes up and its a normal morning, she fixes her coffee and looks out the kitchen window and...BAM! Sam is SO in the buff walking around his house with the blinds open like its no ones business! lol When Janie calls his house to inform him of his very apparent manhood hes flaunting he looks out the window and just smiles! LMAO!!! OMG!

Alright since I'm so sex craved (at least according to SOME GIRLS I KNOW...oh you know who you are! ;op) here is a change I'll give you an emotional snib bit...because actually this book did have its sad parts...

Her eyes were anxious as she studied his expression. He knew he was wearing his cop face, as emotionless as a mask, but she went white.

He put his hands around her slender waist and lifted her into the truck, then walked back around to get behind the wheel.

A tear slid down Jaine's cheek. "Tell me," she said, her voice choked.

He sighed, then reached out and drew her into his arms. "I'm so sorry," he said against her hair.

She clutched his shirt. He could feel her shaking, and held her even tighter.

"Shes dead, isn't she," she said in a trembling whisper, and it wasn't a question.

She knew.

Now don't get fooled by the rating...its a great book you should go get it! Its just I would've rated it higher if the ending was different. Here is what I didn't like...highlight! But don't if you don't want a spoiler.

*I didn't like that when they finally got to the airport to meet her parents you were like so anticipating what all was gonna go on, would you get to see the wedding or would it flash forward to after they got married and maybe joke that she was prego (b/c you know how they joked about his sperm getting to her eggs) but no...once her family got there it ended with her dad saying a joke about his Parkinson disease. So it was like a TOTAL drop off for me.*
