Eternal Hunter (Night Watch Book 1) - Cynthia Eden

Assistant DA Erin Jerome has a secret. Make that two. One: She’s not entirely human–she’s Other, desperately trying to keep her supernatural strength under wraps. Two: she’s got a killer stalking her–an Other rogue set on “gifting” her bloody corpses, not to mention nights lying awake in terror. Small wonder she’s been having bad luck with men.

But the bounty hunter on her new case isn’t worried about any of that. Jude Donovan is a shapeshifter himself, and the new DA’s midnight hair and addictive scent tell him all he thinks he needs to know: She’s gorgeous, she’s definitely not human, and she’s bringing out the animal in him in a really good way. He might have to track a psychotic Other stalker through half of Louisiana. But he might also get the chance to watch Erin’s wild side come out and play.

Erin is a "flawed" shifter who got left by her mother due to her being a hybrid. Erin is part human part wolf shifter. Most think this means weak...but Erin knows the means power! MORE POWER! Erin is a assistant DA which means her job brings her face to face with killers daily. When the murders start to get too close for comfort Erin feels her past start creeping up to haunt her. She thought she was safe...that she got away from him, but it seems hes getting closer and closer!

Jude is a bounty hunter who hunts "Others" like him. Jude is one bad arse tiger shifter who's after a local murderer. This certain murderer has taken a liking to a ADA that's caught his attention. When Erin hires Jude to help hunt down the killer he starts to get possessive of her and soon realizes things wont be temporary in their case.

Will the killer get to Erin before Jude can get to the killer? Will Erin get past her "flawed" issues and learn to love the wild side that's so natural to her kind?

I REALLY REALLY REALLY enjoy Cynthia Eden...the woman knows how to write a story that not only keeps you at the edge of your seat but panting from steamy scene to steamy scene!

Erin was a great strong character that has mommy/daddy issues. Her mother left her at her fathers doorstep b/c she couldn't shift. Its looked upon as being weak so she didn't want her. A few years later her father dies! So needless to say the girl has had it rough! but does this break her down?!?! NO! Erin is a true fighter in every sense. She went to college, got her degree and is now a ADA! PROBLEM...some psycho has started killing in the name of love for her! She cant help but run for her life! But soon he catches up!

Jude...oh Jude! Hes such a macho hero! =) Once Jude has laid his eyes on the prize (Erin) its all possessive and aggressive for this tiger! Jude forms a bond with Erin rather quickly due to her saucy nature and he also assumes shes a weakling b/c she cant shift. Does he feel threatened once he finds out shes one tough cookie...NO! Its turns this man on! ;) That's one thing I love in my hero's! I love when they aren't afraid of a strong woman. He quickly decides he'll be the strong man by his woman and help her find AND kill this lone wolf who's after her!

Like I said Cynthia Eden is pretty awesome! She seamlessly threads mystery into her love stories so that you cant even seem to book the books down! All her books are fast and easy reads so if you haven't came across any yet you better seek these puppies out! ;)

“Wanna answer my question?” His voice was deep, rumbling.
Goosebumps rose on her bare arms. And it was too damn warm for her to have a chill from the weather.
“And just what question was that?” She titled her head to the right.

“Who are you?” A pause. “What are you?”

She let her eyebrows furrow. She’d fooled Other before, she could do it again. “I’m really not sure I understand. I told you, I’m Assistant District Attorney—”
“You don’t smell human.”
Her breath left on a gasp. No, he hadn’t just said—

He stepped toward her, a fast move that brought their bodies too close. Jude leaned in, lowering his head over the curve of her throat. And inhaled.

“Stop!” She shoved him, hard, and watched with no small satisfaction as he stumbled back. Oh, yeah, big guy, I’m much, much stronger than I appear. He wasn’t the first one to learn that little lesson.

She almost bared her teeth at him. Almost.

After all, she wasn’t an animal. No matter what the whispers back home said.

“I don’t know just what you think you were doing,” she snapped, glaring at him as she narrowed her eyes. “But you’d better watch what you do and what you say around me.” Was the guy crazy? You don’t smell human. He couldn’t say things like that.
The words were too dangerous.

She reached into her purse. Dug out her card. “Call my office. My assistant will take care of any paperwork you’ve got.”

He stared at her a moment longer. Then, slowly, his tanned fingers rose. Long fingers, callused. Strong. He took the card, and his fingertips brushed over her hand.

Erin didn’t flinch and she was extremely proud of that fact.

“Good work, Donovan.” After giving him that grudging token of appreciation, she nodded and began to march back toward her car.
She’d taken all of five steps when she heard his whistle. Long, loud, and very appreciative.
Erin stilled.

I really don’t need this shit.
“I’ve got your scent.” Hard words. Scary words. Because she knew what they meant.

If Jude Donovan truly was a shifter, and every instinct she had screamed that he was, then having her scent, well, it meant he had her. He’d be able to follow her, to find her, almost anywhere.

A shifter. What were the odds she’d stumble onto him?

One of the little perks in the Other world—the world full of supernaturals and nightmares, the world that, rather unfortunately, was her life—was that like recognized like. Demons, because, yeah, those conniving bastards were real, could “see” others of their breed. They could look right past the magic glamour and peer into the darkness inside.

Witches felt the power pull from their brethren.

And shifters, well, they could smell each other—a distinct scent. One that carried the wisp of power and the scent of the beast.
Jude Donovan smelled of power. Of wild, strong man. Of savagery. No denying that scent.
As for the beast…she didn’t need the marks on Bobby’s face to know Donovan had claws.

Erin began to walk again. One determined step after another.

And even when she climbed into her car, she could feel his eyes on her. Watching and seeing too much.

Oh, damn.
Now, she’d have to be extra careful to stay on her guard and not let the hunter discover the secrets she kept so carefully hidden.

~2-4-1 Review~ Hunted & Tempted by PC & Kristen Cast

Alright I must admit Ive been B-U-S-Y lately! Between church, reading for Breezing Through, work and planning a vacation Ive been POOPED! I mean really it seems its been taking me longer and longer to read books lately...and now...we bought Rock Band! lol Which btw Im totally obsessed! lol

But Im back (as of the moment) and as you can tell Ive been on a YA kick lately!!! So here is a short and sweet review of the two latest House of Night books Ive read! =)

So…you’d think after banishing an immortal being and a fallen High Priestess, saving Stark’s life, biting Heath, getting a headache from Erik, and almost dying, Zoey Redbird would catch a break. Sadly, a break is not in the House of Night school forecast for the High Priestess in training and her gang. Juggling three guys is anything but a stress reliever, especially when one of them is a sexy Warrior who is so into protecting Zoey that he can sense her emotions. Speaking of stress, the dark force lurking in the tunnels under the Tulsa Depot is spreading, and Zoey is beginning to believe Stevie Rae could be responsible for a lot more than a group of misfit red fledglings. Aphrodite’s visions warn Zoey to stay away from Kalona and his dark allure, but they also show that it is Zoey who has the power to stop the evil immortal. Soon it becomes obvious that Zoey has no choice: if she doesn’t go to Kalona he will exact a fiery vengeance on those closest to her. Will Zoey have the courage to chance losing her life, her heart, and her soul?

What if the hottest guy in the world was hiding a nameless evil and all he wanted was you?

At the start of this heart-pounding new installment of the bestselling House of Night series, Zoey's friends have her back again and Stevie Rae and the red fledglings aren't Neferet's secrets any longer. But an unexpected danger has emerged. Neferet guards her powerful new consort, Kalona, and no one at the House of Night seems to understand the threat he poses. Kalona looks gorgeous, and he has the House of Night under his spell. A past life holds the key to breaking his rapidly spreading influence, but what if this past life shows Zoey secrets she doesn't want to hear and truths she can't face?

On the run and holed up in Tulsa's Prohibition-era tunnels, Zoey and her gang must discover a way to deal with something that might bring them all down. Meanwhile, Zoey has a few other little problems. The red fledglings have cleaned up well--they've even managed to make the dark, creepy tunnels feel more like home--but are they really as friendly as they seem? On the boyfriend front, Zoey has a chance to make things right with super-hot ex-, Eric, but she can't stop thinking about Stark, the archer who died in her arms after one unforgettable night, and she is driven to try to save him from Neferet's sinister influence at all costs. Will anyone believe the power evil has to hide among us?

Ok so the big secret is out! The big bad Kalona is out and has the hots for Zoey! He is in and out of her dreams confusing her with feelings she thinks either her or her reincarnated self may have. Kalona is also tricking all the kids at the House of Night school! It seems as of late they have fog vision and dont really mind that he came out of the bloody ground! The students are also still under Neferets spell...and you wonder if Stark is the baddy hes made out to be.

Speaking of Stark...Mmmm...Stark! lol So ya he shot Stevie Ray and all but he DID miss her heart and we KNOW he has to have feelings for Z. Later on we find out that he in fact does and fights being a baddy as much as Stevie Ray and the other red vamps did! He redeems himself by pledging himself to Zoey as her protector. They start to quickly form their bond that was once lost.

BUT Eric (aka the piss-ant) pitches a fit b/c Zoey is "his"...well Z doenst take kindly to being claimed and dumps his nappy booty! He in trun shows his true colors by being a totally jerk and getting with one of the red vamps! *eye roll! I mean i was upset when i found out they were gonna break up but when he basically called her a whore I forgot his name...Eric who!??!

Ok ya Kalona is getting all up int Z's dreams after she scared him off which leads everyone to an island to face him head on! Once there they go before the "head vamps" and try to get them to realize Neferet is the goddess Nyx. While staying on the island Heath gets his neck snapped and dies! Ok that seriously broke my heart...and even more is that Z's soul shatters and we leave her seeing Heath in the otherworld.

Will Z ever get back to her world???

Ok I totally jumped around so much it wasnt even funny! lol Hunted was a bit of a filler book in my eyes...things started to really heat up in Tempted. Ive said this a million times that these are the most "young adult" books out there so dont let the category fool you! These are awesome books!

One thing I have to say though is that lately Vampire Academy has been shinning through more for me. I think its because its a bit more dont have those really cheesy high school moments too often. =)

SO overall these two books were as usual great!!! I love HoN and I love PC & Kristen Cast!

I give this books a total of...

This is a story of first love is the hottest way possible!

Like I said this book is a bit naughty around the edges to get ready to sweat a little! ;) Heres a snippet for ya! =)

Oh God. She was really there, staring at him, and he -- bless his gorgeous face -- he looked happy to see her. Looking at his smile, she suddenly felt out of her element again and for some reason not quite up to the dress code in her denim knee-length skirt and brown hoodie. Her pink painted toes curled under as she shifted her weight nervously from one foot to the other in the cute, sparkly flip-flops Alli had talked her into wearing. But there wasn't a dress code, given that he was in faded, threadbare jeans with holes in the knees and one of the back pockets ripped at the seams. His T-shirt was black with a washed-out logo she couldn't make out, and his sneakers had seen much better days. Still, she felt uncertain about how she looked to him standing there while they stared at each other.

He stopped in front of her. "You're here."

"Yes. I-I hope it's okay that I just showed up like this without calling first."

"Yep. I'm glad you're here. I can stop checking my phone every thirty seconds now."

Checking his phone? Was he serious? Surely not. "I-I'm sure you have things to do. I just wanted to…" Lily hated that she was stumbling all over herself and couldn't seem to get a string of words to come out in some semblance of order and make sense. The man had her all tongue-tied and she wished she hadn't had that particular thought, because she would love to be tongue-tied, naked, and wrapped around him.

e had to stop looking at her like he wanted to devour her. "I have nothing else that I'm needed for until tomorrow, so that means I'm all yours tonight."

"Oh." She likely hadn't hidden the surprise at his choice of words, because he laughed. All hers? Yeah, right. In what universe was a man like Cam Carter ever going to be "all hers"?

"You like that idea."

"Well, yes, of course. How could I not?" She'd play along, though. How often did an average, ordinary music teacher and orchestra member get this kind of opportunity? "I'd be crazy to not want you all to myself."

"Great. Because that's how I want you." He stepped closer and lifted his hand, then traced the outline of her cheekbone, causing her breath to catch in her throat. "I want you all to myself."

He was going to kiss her. She knew it because he took off his sunglasses, because the pulse beat in his neck had kicked into high gear, because his lips actually brushed hers. Oh. My. God. He's too young. He's too young. He's too young.

Everything flew away in the breeze when she let herself get swept up in the softness of his lips, the insistent tip of his tongue, the feel of his hand sliding into her hair, holding her mouth to his.
It was a brief kiss, just a taste of him, but it was enough to whet her appetite for more. The little devil inside her head laughed. As if she needed her appetite whetted.

She had thought of little else in the last six days, and she'd never wrestled with anything more. Should she or shouldn't she? Should she call or just show up?
More than once, she'd picked up the phone and dialed his number but never let the call go through. What if he hadn't remembered her by just her name and voice alone? What if he put her off or changed his mind or hadn't meant for her to take the date and time on the picture seriously? She didn't know, but there was definitely something between them, some chemistry even she couldn't deny.

"Just as sweet as I knew you'd be."
Lily smiled, unsure what to say. You are just as hot as I remembered, and I want to see how hot you are naked in bed.

"What do you want to do? Dinner? A movie? A concert? A club? Whatever you want to do, we will do."

"A date?"

"Yes. What did you think this was?"

"I don't know. I didn't know you wanted to go out with me. On a date. In public."

Cam looked at her curiously, his smile faltering, his eyes hooded and unreadable. "Was I being presumptuous in thinking that you might like to?"

"I… No. No, not at all. "
The light returned to his face and it took her breath away. Again. Damn. The effect the man had on her… Cam Carter wanted her, wanted to spend time with her, go out on a date with her. She wasn't strong enough to deny him or herself. He was offering her a chance few women ever got. Why not make the most of it?

Sins of the Night (Dark-Hunter, Book 8) - Sherrilyn Kenyon

In the realm of the Dark-Hunters there is a code of honor that even immortal bad boys must follow:

Harm no human. Drink no blood. Never fall in love.

But every now and again a Dark-Hunter thinks himself above the Code. That's when I'm summoned. Who am I? I'm the one thing the fearless fear. Step over the line and it's my wrath you will face. Nothing can touch me. Nothing can sway me. I am relentless and unfeeling.

Or so I thought until I met a female Dark-Hunter who goes by the name of Danger-it's not just her name, it's how she lives her life. She doesn't trust me at all. And who could blame her? She alone knows that I'm here to be judge, jury and most likely executioner of her friends. Yet she is my key to saving some of them. Without her, they all will die.

Dangereuse St. Richard is a deadly distraction. Something about her is reawakening a heart I thought was long dead. But in a race against evil, the only hope mankind has is that I do my duty. And how can I do my duty when it means that I will have to sacrifice the only woman I've ever loved?

Danger~ Back stabbed by her husband...died trying to save her family.

Alexion~ Betrayed by his wife, murdered, Acherons right hand man!

Alexion is faced with a huge decision...some Dark Hunters are being lead down a dark path with the evil Stryker. He must come to earth and see what Dark Hunters he can pull to the right fro the others they must face death. In the mean time Alexion shacks up with Danger. The temperature starts to rise as each find something special within each other. The main discovery is that they resurrect a feeling neither has felt in Will Danger be able to face the fact that Alexion might have to kill her friends? What happens when Alexion must go back to his home with the rest of the Gods?

I dont care what people say about the Dark Hunter books...Im still enjoying them! I can see someone getting tired of them if they read them back to back but a month or so in between readings is a perfect fit! =)

I have to say I really loved Alexion and Danger! Danger was wronged a long time ago (obviously) and so she doesnt trust men AT ALL! She too gets somewhat persuaded by Stryker so Alexion has to get her to trust him and trust that Ash is one of the good guys. Along the way to trust the two totally fall in love! =)

Alexions story is great! ***SPOILER***He was human, died, then his wife got his soul back ONLY TO DROP IT b/c she didnt want him back! What a heifer! Needless to say Ash felt horrible so he enlisted him to be his second in command and take out judgment on any Dark Hunters that are acting questionable.

Danger took her dagger from Alexion's hand, then, without thought, touched the ragged tear in his shirt. He felt solid underneath. Real. There was cold skin beneath the silk and wool fabric and it was hard and masculine. Yet human beings didn't shatter like Daimons and no Daimon reappeared after death...

Alexion ground his teeth at the sensation of her soft fingers on his flesh. His body roared to life as he watched her examine him like a scientist with a lab experiment that had gone tragically wrong. No more than five two or three, Dangereuse was petite and athletic. There had been something about her that caught his interest. An innocence that still seemed to be inside her. Most Dark-Hunters were jaded by their human betrayals and deaths, and by their duties. But this one... She appeared to have avoided the cynicism that eternal life often brought.

Of course, she was young by Dark-Hunter years.

Her dark, chestnut colored hair was worn in a long braid, down her back, but pieces of it had escaped to curl becomingly around her face. Her features were angelic and delicate. If not for her carriage and self-assuredness, she would have appeared fragile.

And yet there was nothing fragile about her. Dangereuse could more than take care of herself and he knew that well. As one of the newer Dark-Hunters, she was only a couple of hundred years old and had died while trying to save the noble half of her family from the guillotine in France during their revolution. It had been a monumental task she had set for herself and if not for being betrayed, she would have succeeded.

Not to mention the woman had the most kissable mouth he'd ever seen. Full and lush, her lips were the kind that a man dreamed of tasting at night. That mouth beckoned him now with temptation and the promise of pure unadulterated heaven.

She also smelled of sweet magnolias and woman. It had been over two hundred years since he'd last had the pleasure of a woman's body. And it was all he could do not to bend his head down and bury his face against her soft, tender neck and inhale the scent of her. Feel the softness of her skin against his hungry lips as he tasted the supple flesh there.

Oh, to have her lithe body pressed up against his, preferably naked...

But then given her first reaction to his presence, he didn't think she'd react much better to being mauled by him.

Overall this book is all about trust and two people finally coming out on top in life! =) The sex scenes were HAWT, there was plenty of fighting action, and we got to see a bit more into Ash's past! If you havent picked up any of these books yet you really should! they cant touch the Black Dagger Brother books in my eyes BUT they are very comparable. You wont be let down!

I give this book a total of...

Succubus Shadows (Georgina Kincaid, Book 5) - Richelle Mead

Georgina Kincaid has formidable powers. Immortality, seduction, shape-shifting into any human form she desires, walking in heels that would cripple mere mortals—all child’s play to a succubus like her.

Helping to plan her ex-boyfriend’s wedding is a different story. Georgina isn’t sure which is worse—that Seth is marrying another woman, or that Georgina has to run all over Seattle trying on bridesmaid dresses. Still, there are distractions. Georgina’s roommate, Roman, is cluttering her apartment with sexual tension. Then there’s Simone, the new succubus in town, who’s intent on corrupting Seth.

But the real danger lies in the mysterious force that’s visiting her thoughts, trying to draw her into a dark, otherworldly realm. Sooner or later, Georgina knows she’ll be too weak to resist. And when that happens, she’ll discover who she can trust, who she can’t—and that Hell is far from the worst place to spend eternity…

How could someone not TOTALLY do back flips over this book??? I hate to say this but this review will probably be all squealing like a school girl! lol So needless to say if you havent read this book yet STOP NOW! lol Surely there will be ***SPOILERS***

Ok we open up pretty much in the same place we left off at...Seth still engaged to Maddie, Georgina is living with Roman and still questioning if he still wants to kill her and all of us feeling HIGH AND DRY! ;p

It seems like Georgie is always at the pit of evil...bad things are always after her and in the book she doesnt get a break! Something Something evil is trying to capture her...something related to her past! Once again her and her friends gather together to try and figure out the mystery. When Georgie gets taken over one too many times her luck runs out and she gets captured! Now its up to her friends to figure out where exactly she is! ~ The cool thing about this aspect of the book was during her being captured. You relive her past...not quite knowing if it is real or fake. The dreams she had were heart wrenching at see stuff you wanted to happen and stuff you fear will happen! Either way it got your emotions rolling!

OMG OMG OMG...ok ok Im calm now...*sigh...FINALLY! Finally Georgia gives the heck in! Ok so Seth ends up breaking it off with Maddie (THANK YOU JESUS) and him and Georgie get together. Its hard for Georgie to make the decision to take from his soul and have sex with him but overall she realizes that they love each other and its the only way they can ever be happy together! At first when Seth and Georgie get together she realizes that Seth has changed and in my head I was thinking (as she walked away for another time) you know what...GOOD b/c he isnt the innocent guy we all loved BUT from her walking away he "wakes up" and does and about face!

In the mean while Roman has totally fallen for Georgie again and I have to say that I wanted them to be together. I love Seth...REALLY love Seth but there is something about the way the Roman looks at her and cares for her *sigh...see I was TOTALLY on the fence with these boys! Ok sad part...when Georgie decides to get BACK together AGAIN with Seth she going to walk out the door and who comes through...Roman! Let me tell you when he looked at her and realized she was going for Seth I ABOUT DIED! I was happy for her and Seth but sad for her and Roman! lol Cant we just have a Roman/Seth sandwich? lol

Oh one last thing that has to be sad...WOW on Maddie finding out about Seth and Georgie! I mean YIPES! But then again I was totally glad b/c I actually feel like I can breathe while reading the book now! lol Its like things are getting cleared up! BUT thats sad in itself b/c that means things are coming to an end. I actually think that the next book is the last :*( Ok I dont wanna event think of that right now!

Ok food for thought...what do yall think about the whole...problems with her contract thingy. Im thinking/hoping that they find a problem and shes able to get out of it and be a human again!!! EPP! Wouldnt that be awesome?

Ok so thats my ranting review! lol I loved this stinking book and further more I love Richelle Mead! =)

I give this book a total of...

Oh By The Way...

Trouble befalls Lord John Grey (fresh from minor roles in Gabaldon's bestselling Outlander novels) when he accidentally discovers that the Hon. Joseph Trevelyan, his cousin's betrothed, may have what those in 1757 termed "the pox" or "the French disease" syphilis. Befo
re he can figure out an appropriate way to handle this delicate matter, he becomes involved in the investigation of the mysterious and grisly murder of a military colleague suspected of being a spy. Gabaldon (The Fiery Cross; Drums of Autumn; etc.) stitches these two plots together into a compelling narrative that also offers a wealth of juicy details about 18th-century London, especially its homosexual underbelly. Lord John, who reminisces about his dead lover, Hector, and the "lean, hard body" of an old flame, learns that Trevelyan may be traveling from one house of ill repute to another of a different sort: at the Lavender House, both buyers and sellers are men. GIVE AWAY Plus ~2-4-1 Review~ Frostbite & Shadow Kiss (Vampire Academy Books 2 & 3) - Richelle Mead

Rose Hathaway's got serious guy trouble. Her gorgeous tutor Dimitri has his eye on someone else, her friend Mason has a huge crush on her, and she keeps getting stuck in her best friend Lissa's head while she's making out with her boyfriend, Christian. (So not cool).

Then a massive Strigoi attack puts St. Vladimir's on high alert, and the Academy crawls with Guardians--including the legendary Janine Hathaway...Rose's formidable, long-absent mother. The Strigoi are closing in, and the Academy's not taking any risks. This year, St. Vlad's annual holiday ski trip is mandatory.

But the glittering winter landscape and the posh Idaho resort only provide the illusion of safety. When three students run away to strike back against the deadly Strigoi, Rose must join forces with Christian to rescue them. Only this time, Rose--and her heart--are in more danger than she ever could have imagined...

It's springtime at St. Vladimir's Academy, and Rose Hathaway is this close to graduation. Since making her first Strigoi kills, Rose hasn't been feeling quite right. She's having dark thoughts, behaving erratically, and worst of all...might be seeing ghosts.

As Rose questions her sanity, new complications arise. Lissa has begun experimenting with her magic once more, their enemy Victor Dashkov might be set free, and Rose's forbidden relationship with Dimitri is starting to heat up again. But when a deadly threat no one saw coming changes their entire world, Rose must put her own life on the line--and choose between the two people she loves most.

Ok guys...lets let the cat outta the bag...I know not ALL my readers/followers care for Young adult books...I mean I understand that at times these books can be a bit immature or just plain silly BUT when it comes to this woman...she could write the obituaries and Id drink it down like it was the last drop of water on a hot summer day! Who am I talking about...RICHELLE MEAD! I mean HELLO the woman freaking ROCKS! Read all read her Georgina Kincaid series...or even her Dark Swan books...why not try her Vampire Academy book?!?!

Let me tell you what youre missing out on...

Ok Ive already reviewed the first in this heres a bit of have the Dahmpir's who protect the dieing race Moroi (vampires).Rose is BFF's with Lissa. A Moroi princess. They go to school together while Rose trains ( to fight against the Striogi aka vamps turned evil) to be her guardian with her uber hot 24 year old teacher/crush Dimitri. A huge attack sends everyone into HIGH ALERT! This also brings Roses estranged mother into the picture. Jane Hathaway is a guardian pro! Rose pretty mush hates her guts for leaving her as a infant to fight but is basically headed down the same path. Anyways b/c of the huge attack Rose and all her class mates (Dimitri included ;)) are headed to a ski lodge to keep safe. While there more attacks happen close by and Rose finds out where the Striogi are hiding out! Things happen with relationships and such and Rose soon finds herself in a heap of a mess b/c 3 students are on their way to face the bad guys themselves! This is where the book gets pretty dark...***SPOILERS*** While trying to stop her friends from an idiotic ambush the 4 get taken and tortured...getting fed off of and threatened is only half of it. Rose has to make some tough decisions on how to get everyone out before lives start to get taken! I dont want to giev too much away but someone nearly breaks my dang heart!!!

This book was filled with action! Theres tons of fighting and biting! Those are two things that we all love ;) One thing I adore about these books is the foreplay! LOL!!! Ya I said it! B/c it is YA they haev to be somewhat careful with the actions that take place but let me tell you that I still get hot under the collar at the steamy parts! Oh one more thing...theres a threat for her crush on Dimitri! Theres a Moroi that has her eye on him as her guardian and he must make the choice to stay and hide his love for Rose or run the other way to guard his heart! EPP!

Ok on to Shadow Kiss! I have to say this is my favorite of all! In this book Roses sanity is totally questioned. Since the horrible kidnapping and slaughter she witnessed Rose is quite off kilter. So when she has to play guardian to Christian (Lissa her BFF's boyfriend) she finds flashes of those days haunting her. Rose starts seeing things...people...dark images reaching towards her...almost pullling her back to where she belonged. See Rose is Shadow Kissed. She got in a car accident at a young age and Lissa brought her back to life using her abilities. So technically she should be dead...aka Shadow Kissed. Once the cat is out of the bag that Rose is seeing things shes forced into therapy. She soon finds out that the reason shes seeing dead people is because they are warning her of what is to come! and when it comes...THE POOPY HITS THE FAN! Now Rose is face with two problems...1) She realizes that shes having problems with her sanity b/c shes pulling the evil forces out of Lissa...which in other instances has resulted b4 in suicide! and 2) She is faced with the horrible fact that the man she loves...might just be the man she has to kill!

Above all RM's voice totally bleeds through like it does in all her other books. These books have a certain attitude and quirkiness about them! Not to mention a HUGE sarcastic touch! ;) These books get better and better as they go along! I promise you if you pick them up you wont be sorry! They REALLY keep your attention! Not to mention you can never seem to put these books down! =) Ok go get'em tiger!

I give these books a total of...

One last thing...I forgot to mention the GIVE AWAY we have going on over at Breezing Through! Its for our recently reviewed book Heart of Stone...

Heart of Stone by Jill Marie Landis
published by Zondervan (March 1, 2010)

Laura Foster (aka Lovie Lane), wealthy widowed owner of a refined boardinghouse in Glory, Tex., is running from her tainted past and ruined childhood in a tale set in the 1870s. Laura does everything in her power to overcome the odds and create a life free of shame and abuse. Partly succeeding, she is thrown off-kilter when handsome Rev. Brand McCormick, a widower, takes a romantic interest in her. Laura knows with dead certainty that Brand would never come calling if he knew the truth of her past, so she rebuffs his attention at every turn. But the good reverend just won't be put off. Both characters have much to reveal that will test their love, faith, and loyalty to one another.

Duncan's Bride - Linda Howard

Reese Duncan wanted a wife, pure and simple. Someone to have children with, someone to help him rebuild his ranch, someone uncomplicated...and someone very different from his first wife, the woman who'd destroyed his life.

But he hadn't bargained on Madelyn Patterson. She was sophisticated and citified, and she was willing to herd cattle, keep house and start a family with Reese. The only thing she asked for in return was love - the one thing Reese refused to guarantee.

Ok Ive REALLY began to L-O-V-E Linda Howard! Her writing just jumps off the pages and grabs your heart! Duncan's Bride is NO exception!

Ok Reese is a good ol' boy that was raised on a huge far and now runs it by himself after getting basically SLAMMED by his ex wife that couldnt deal with the country life. She took him to the cleaners and hes barely able to make ends meet. SO he gets the great idea of a male order bride! (lol I know I know...) He throws the add in the paper thinking no one would answer...little did he know that little miss Maddie Patterson was looking for a change! And once she meets this studly cowboy she had her heart set! Trouble was Resse was wanting to avoid two things things...1) A city-girl like his ex (and from the looks of it Maddie put the girl in city-girl) and 2) LOVE (which Maddie was SO determined to have).

So you see the problem... ;o)

Man this book was SO GREAT! I swear I read it in like a day and a half! I liked Maddie from the VERY beginning! She was pretty strong willed in her life. When she figured out what she wanted she went for it! Once she met Reese and came to visit the farm he quickly judged her and thought she couldnt handle the country life...BUT SHE SHOWED HIM! The simple life of the country was exactly what she needed! Something drew her to Resse and it wasnt just his hard, hot was his manners, his love for his farm, his want for kids and his deep rooted love she knew shed have a time bringing out.

Now Reese...oh Reesey-poo...*sigh...let me tell was a love/hate relationship with this man and me. Like I said Resse was a good ol' boy...old fashioned in every sense! Which in some ways is good. I mean after all I too am a southern (NOT country but southern) girl. So I REALLY appreciate the charm our boys have...BUT being sexist is a total turn off...and let me tell you Resse lit a fire under my cute little fanny! There were times that he would just lay into Maddie like she shouldve known to have dinner on the table the second he came in from work, or that she should tell him everywhere she goes or that she couldnt do "manly" things...well *gagging sounds, that put me off...but thats also the beauty of this story! Reese totally learns his lesson. I dont wanna say HOW he learns everything but lets just say Maddie is JUST what he needs...he makes him question everything that he says he didnt want...she takes it all away and THEN he realizes whats most important!

One other thing that cant go unmentioned is...HELLO TO THE HOT LOVIN'!!!!! I mean its like they were cats in heat! lol At times it was sweet and soft then at other times it burnt m,y retinas just reading the words! I mean...they did it in the field, in his truck, in the house...JEEZ! There was NOT LACKING in the steam department here folks! ;) Oh one other thing I have to say that piggy backs hot hot Resse is...well he had NO TROUBLE letting Maddie know how much he wanted her! I mean jeez from like the first day he was telling her how he wanted to push up her skirt! LOLOLOLOL!!!!

Ok ok so ya this is a oldy but a goody so go and get it! You WONT be sorry!

I give this book a total of...
