Take A Chance On Me - Susan Donovan

Thomas Tobin-an undercover investigator of paid "hits"-discovers little Hairy trembling near the body of a key informant. Feeling responsible for the man's death, the usually cynical Thomas takes Hairy home, then consults animal behaviorist Emma Jenkins to help fix the dog's decidedly weird behavior. Emma responds immediately to Thomas's blinding sex appeal, but her recent divorce and her adoption of her best friend's orphaned daughter leave her with little energy for romance. Despite painful baggage of his own, Thomas is less ambivalent. The discovery that Hairy may hold a clue to the murder gives him an excuse to hire Emma again. Meanwhile, Emma's shady ex-husband Aaron-the murderer Thomas is seeking-re-enters their lives in a dramatic way.

I love Susan Donovan. In this book she totally shows why she holds a special place in my book lovin little heart! Oh btw ***SPOILERS***

Emma is a dog behaviorist. She meets Thomas Tobin while examining his prissy pooch in her office one day. Thomas is an undercover investigator...he doesnt let this be known obviously until later on. The dog he has apparently witnessed the murder and its his job to find out the details. With the help of Emma he thinks he stands a chance at bringing down the killer. If only he could drag his eyes off of her for two seconds he might get some work done.

This book was adorable! It totally kept me interested even though we didnt get "down and dirty" until like 245 pages! lol

I loved the fact that this book was a lot deeper than I expected! First off you have Leelee and Emmas relationship. Leelee is the daughter of her best friends that dies in an accident about a year ago. Leelee is twelve years old and as you girls know thats a very difficult age for a girl. Their relationship at times almost brought me to tears. Leelee led a rough life with her mother and now is somewhat having a rough time adjusting without her mother. Another serious aspect to the story has to do with Thomas. Thomas plays rugby and a few years back hurt himself so badly it made him unable to father a child! When he found this out he was with his girlfriend at the time and she blew up in front of the doc and him and dumped him! Horribly sad. Hes fallen into a deep depression at this point and is scared to get close to any woman in fear that he cant fully give them what they need out of life. :*( The last serious aspect is Emma and Aaron her ex husband. Aaron and Emma had been together for 13 years. Aaron had never treated Emma correctly and she just assumed that was the best she was going to get. Obviously being a part of this situation for a long time one would get used to it so when she meets Thomas and he practically worships her (and her body that Aaron wasnt a fan of) she doesnt know what to do. Her insecurities leave your heart wrenching for her while she struggles to let herself open up to a man who truly loves her for who she is.

One thing I love in my contemp romances is a bit of suspense. In this story Aaron (Emmas ex-hubby) has totally mooched off of her their entire marriage and even after! He comes to her asking for money one day and she denies him once and for all! His reaction was to tell her "You dont know what youve just done". Emma shrugs it off thinking hes being ass crazy like always! BUT when things start to go crazy at her house with a gun she soon understands his meaning. Aaron was such a douche in this book! BUT I have to say that I enjoyed his character. He went to Thomas while he was undercover and tried to hire him to kill Emma! He goes after Leelee and Emma by the end of the book and roughs them up in a hotel room! A lot of times the suspense in contemp romances isnt that strong...its more of a filler, but in this story it was a pretty strong lead! :o) That I really enjoyed!

Lastly I have to mention how excited I am that they threw in Emma getting preggers! EPP! I am all for the HEA of the couple getting married and having babies! I loved that he was unsure of who the father was b/c he always thought he could have kids and it was their small hurtle to overcome. BUT this leads me to my one small issue...not even REALLY a big one but something that made my eyes roll every now and then. It seemed like Thomas was messing up at every turn. I understand he had issues but he kept saying "Ill never hurt you" then it went to "Ill never hurt you...again"...etc. I think he messed up a total of three times and I thought it was like JEEZ GET THE PICTURE MAN!

Snib Bit~
When Thomas ended the kiss he pulled back, Emma saw his eyes were filled with tears. "Emma, I'm sterile. The woman I was with for four years - Nina - she left me when we found out."
Emma went completely still. He brushed his thumbs over her cheekbones. His hands trembled.
"I want you so much." Thomas laughed at his own confession and shook his head. "So damn much. But I think you deserve a real relationship with real possibilities - and I shouldve stopped this right at the start."
"Oh Thomas..."
"I tried but..." Thomas lowered his head and his voice. "I couldnt. Im falling..." He raised his eyes to hers again. "Im crazy about you, Emma."

:*) Yay that was probably one of my favorite moments in the book. He lets her have all of him and bares everything! So ya this book was great! It proves why I love SD so much and I just cant wait for her new book out in November 2009 Ain't To Proud To Beg.

I give this book a total of...

Succubus Heat (Georgina Kincaid, Book 4) - Richelle Mead

Georgina Kincaid has been a bad, bad succubus. . .
. . .which should be a good thing. But lately, thanks to her foul mood over breaking up with bestselling writer Seth Mortensen, she's been so wicked that Seattle's uber-demon Jerome, decides to "outsource" Georgina to a rival--and have her spy for him in the process. Being exiled to the frozen north--okay, Vancouver--and leaving Seth in the cozy clutches of his new girlfriend is unpleasant enough. Then Jerome is kidnapped, and all immortals under his control mysteriously lose their powers. One bright spot: with her life-sucking ability gone, there's nothing to keep Georgina from getting down and dirty with Seth--nothing apart from his girlfriend that is. Now, as the supernatural population starts turning on itself, a newly mortal Georgina must rescue her boss and figure out who's been playing them--or all hell will break loose. . .

Yikes was this book a whirl wind of craziness! I got SO excited (and very anxious) after reading Succubus Dreams that I had to jump right into Succubus Heat! And I mine as well tell you now this review contains ***SPOILERS***

In the latest Georgina Kincaid book you meet a darker Georgie at the beginning! She is super depressed by Seth and Maddie being together (btw its a few months after...like 4) and shes dating a hell bound physic (Dante from Succubus Dreams). Shes sleeping around and getting energy just about every night and she doesnt mind WHO knows! Btw at one point shes at a graduation party, gets drunk, and has sex wtih a guest in the bathroom! OH did I mention Seth totally sees it?!?!? Well he doesnt see them actually have sex but he sees them go in the house and he notices her "glow" afterwords. ok back on track...well Jerome is pissed b/c Georgie is bitchy so he sends her to "help" another demon in Canada. Georgie has to deal with some idiotic demon worshipers all the while Jerome ends up getting kidnapped!!! After realizing hes gone everyone has temporarily lost their abilities!! Georgie and her friends have to find Jerome before he ends up getting replaced!

Ok...so obviously we all see whats gonna happen. Seth ends up finding out that Georgie can have sex without the effects she was always so afraid of. AND it ends up happening!!! I REALLY enjoyed their romp in-between the sheets. It was slow and sensual...like Seth was savoring his moment he had LONG awaited for! :o) And I thought...Ill do a Snib Bit on their first time...ehhh...Ill do it on their second time in her office at the books store b/c it was HAWT!

Snib Bit~
Reaching out I took his hand and brought it to my collarbone. It was all he needed. He stepped closer and traced the lines of my neck, then moved down to my shoulder. He pushed the dresses strap down my arm and his fingers followed pulling it down revealing most of my breast. My nipple was already hard. Yesterday had been sweet and full of emotion. There was emotion here today but it was intermingled with raw passion and animal instinct. I stumbled and found my body against the wall as he continued caressing my breast. His hand moved down under my dress and then under my black lace thong panties, probing to see if I was ready.
I was. I groaned when he slipped a finger in me. His mouth found mine bruising me with harsh kisses. Seth gripped my hips and turned me around so that I faced the wall. He shoved my skirt back up and tugged my panties halfway down my thighs. I bent over and extended my arms, using my hands to brace myself against the wall. He entered me, forceful and deep, with no buildup or teasing. Steadying his hands on my hips, he thrust to sate the need I'd seen in him earlier, the need I shared. I cried out each time he shoved into me, knowing I should be quiet in case someone else had come back into the store. But I couldnt be.

Ok so back on the road. It was hard for the two to stay away from each other but they tried. My issue was with Seth though. At one point he even asks Georgie if he can "see" her again!!! Idk...I know he loves her still b/c its SO apparent when they are near each other but I just couldnt shake the feeling that it was wrong...not b/c of Maddie but b/c I almost felt like thats the only reason he was back with her at times. After she got her abilities back he told her he was willing to try it all again..GEORGIE SAYS NO!!!!!!!!!!! OMG! I understand why...and I actually feel a bit better b/c it was her doing this time and not him but UGH it was crazy. Oh and he goes back to Maddie, doesnt tell her what he did with Georgie (we find out if he died at this point he would go to hell) and asks Maddie to effing MARRY HIM!?!?! Ugh wow!

Well one aspect I REALLY (also) loved was Roman came back. Someone kept leaving clues for Georgie and helping her out and I SO knew it would be him. He acts like maybe he is playfully saying maybe later he would want to kill her b/c she had a hand in his sisters death but I think we all know that wont happen. After he helps her find Jerome and defeat the "bad guy" (dont wanna give it away) hes allowed to stay and ends up rooming with Georgie. Here are my two predictions I think will happen on that end...either Roman and Georgie will be bff b/c they live together and maybe he still loves her but she ends up with Seth(I KNOW Seth and Maddie wont make it down the aisle) or Roman and Georgie get together?!?! I always liked Roman. He did love Georgie and if he wanted her dead she wouldve been. I felt hes been so misguided b/c what he is.

A few other things I liked about this book were...

1- I loved how the vamps got to go around during the day! lol It was so funny how they were wanting to go to the beach etc.

2- Dante was an idiot and made some bad decisions that left him loosing Georgie. I KINDA felt bad for him though...he loved Georgie and yet again is placed under the title of misguided.

3- There are times (for some reason) I want Georgie to be with Doug! lol

4- I loved how she had to do everything herself...change clothes, do her hair etc. And everyone was always telling her that her hair was frizzy! lol Except Seth- he thought she was still beautiful!

5- I think we all still have our fingers crossed for Carter and Georgie as well...I think him and Roman and my top guys for her... I love Seth but hes on my shit list right now! ;op

So ya this book...NO this entire series ROCKS MY SOCKS OFF! Go and buy the books they will not disappoint you!

I give this book a total of...

Succubus Dreams (Georgina Kincaid, Book 3) - Richelle Mead

Some days, a girl just can't catch a break......especially when the girl in question is Georgina Kincaid, a shape-shifting succubus who gets her energy from seducing men. First there's her relationship with gorgeous bestselling writer Seth Mortensen, which is unsatisfying on a number of levels. It's not just that they can't have sex in case Georgina inadvertently kills him (generally a turn-off for most guys). Lately, even spending time together is a challenge. Seth's obsessed with finishing his latest novel, and Georgina's under demonic orders to mentor the new (and surprisingly inept) succubus on the block. Then there are the dreams. Someone, or something, is preying on Georgina at night, draining her energy, and supplying eerie visions of her future. Georgina seeks answers from Dante, a dream interpreter with ties to the underworld, but his flirtatious charm only leaves her more confused-especially as the situation with Seth reaches crisis point. Now Georgina faces a double challenge-rein in her out-of-control love life, and go toe-to-toe with an enemy capable of wreaking serious havoc among mankind. Otherwise, Georgina, and the entire mortal world, may never sleep easy again...

Ok I'm jumping right into this and let me tell you I'm speaking my mind and I'm 100% sure their will be ***SPOILERS*** out the ying yang!

Ok so here I go...first off this book was SO AMAZINGLY GOOOOOD! This book pulled on SO MANY different emotions I was going crazy. I will tell you I was talking with Ames and telling her I was having anxiety over this book! lol I did know what was going to happen before I read this book which made it SO MUCH HARDER to read...word to the wise...don't force your friend to tell you spoilers...omg b/c it leaves you wondering the entore time when stuff will happen and you keep asking more questions...and more questions...until you know everything. Never the less...I did have surprises come along.

Georgie has been having these odd dreams...shes in a kitchen washing dishes and looks back to see her DAUGHTER (she just feels/knows its her own flesh and blood daughter) sitting on the floor playing. After a few minutes she hears crying and goes to pick up her child. They hear a car door outside and go to meet...DADDY...but she never gets to see who the daddy actually is. AND when she wakes up from the dream shes drained from all life source, EVEN if she had sex just the night before! Whats happening is Nyx is coming into her dreams and draining her! After a while Georgie catches on to whats happening and knows she needs to find a resolution. She goes to a "physic" named Dante and he totally hits on her, but we find out hes not SO BAD and helps her along the way.

Ok so Seth and Georgie...
They are having so many problems...well lots of it has to do with her being a succubus and him being a writer! She cant have sex with Seth for fear of taking years off his life. And after an attempted mugging Seth is tempted to play with the odds. He PUSHES AND PUSHES Georgie to have sex with him but she just cant do it! After all she immortal and he isnt so why take time off of his life when he wont be around forever...he will. Georgies problem with Seth (besides the sexual ones) are that hes been breaking plans with her and standing her up continually. She understands that hes a writer BUT that doesnt mean she needs to fall in between the cracks! Well like I said he pushes her one night and she totally tells him NO! They have a huge fight and he leaves her apartment.

In comes Maddie...we met Maddie one book back. Seth went to pick her up b/c Doug (her bro) was in the hospital. I thought it was odd that Seth and Maddie were in a car for 4 hours not even knowing each other but nothing came of it then and so I let it go. LITTLE did I know that that....grrrr....MADDIE would come back to bite me in the butt! Ok so Georgie and Maddie are close friends and Georgie has been helping her "find herself", have more confidence, dress better etc. She even at one point goes to a date auction and Georgie makes Seth bid (and win) her b/c she felt so bad. Well when Seth leaves Georgies pissed off he goes and HOOKS UP WITH MADDIE!!! OMG! Maddie doesnt know Georgie and Seth are dating so she tells Georgie before she leaves town for Christmas. Seth goes to pick Georgie up for dinner...they have a huge blow out but Georgie says "Its ok I do it all the time we will get past this" only for Seth to say that he wants to BREAK UP and he likes Maddie. Where the hell did this come from!??! OMG I was SO HURT! He compares the two girls saying Maddie is like Georgie but "human" OMG!

So by the dang end of the book Maddie and Seth are together! I just dont get it. Its sad enough that Georgie basically made Maddie to where Seth could "see her" but he NEVER cared!!! He was with her 1 stinking night and BAM forget all the love I have for Georgie I want Maddie! UGH! I THINK he broke it off b/c in the end it will hurt Georgie b/c one day he will die, also they fight all the time from the strains of what she does and they cant really consummate their relationship! BUT the entire thing just made me want to throw up! :*(

Snib Bit~
"Whats the report Maddie? What adventurous things have you done?"

"Well theres the new clothes. I feel like...well, like a girl."
I smiled and looked at the cars ahead of me.
"What have you done other than the shopping?"

"I signed up for judo class. Its the craziest thing I could think of."

"Anything else?"

"I started looking for my own place, started checking out flights to places I want to see, and I slept with Seth."

I nearly drove into the median. "What?" I said jerking the wheel back to my own lane. Maddie had her hands stretched out protectively. "Seth Mortensen?"
"Of course who else?" It was one of those things that was so ludicrous, I couldnt even fully react. It was like saying, "Hey did you notice the earth just exploded?"

"And we talked...and after a while...we stopped talking. And one thing led to another." She exhaled, like she still couldnt believe it herself.

No, no, no. This wasn't happening. This was a dream...a nightmare that Id hoped Id wake up from soon.
"So, um, it was good?"
"Oh, yeah!" She gave a nervous giggle, "I cant believe Im even talking about this. But, yeah, Seth's a great lover. Very attentive."

A few other things...

1-Hugh stands up for Georgie and it melts my heart...he doesnt want Seth and her together b/c he fears for her to get hurt! :o)

2-I still want her to hook up with Carter.

3-They have a new Succubus that she has to mentor and the girl is a moron!

4-You learn about a love she had a long time ago for a priest named Andrew and it was super sad! I always love hearing about her past!

Ok so overall this book broke my damn little heart...SOMEONE REVIVE ME PLEASE! BUT even though it did that it was beautifully written and one of her best books! :o) Go get it or Ill put my fist through YOU! lol ;op

I give this book a total of...

Knock Me Off My Feet - Susan Donovan

Autumn Adams honors her mother's deathbed wish when she takes over her role as famed Homey Helen, domestic diva of Chicago's WBBS-TV station. Coaching her mother's fans on the finer points of homemaking is the last thing Autumn wants; she'd much rather be kicking a soccer ball around a field or running a marathon. Fortunately, she has Marjorie Stoddard, her mom's faithful secretary, to pick up the slack. But Marjorie isn't much help when a twisted fan starts sending death threats in the form of grisly household hints, one of which advises her on the proper way to freeze human remains. Autumn receives protection in the form of handsome Detective Stacey Quinn, who thinks Autumn just might be the perfect woman for him. Winning Autumn's affection isn't as easy as he anticipates, however. Marjorie's bad track record with men-"It's like after seven or eight weeks some green slimy and hairy thing with eleven eyeballs suddenly jumps out of the top of my head and the men start running for the nearest exit"-may keep her from pursuing the one man who won't run away.

I think you all know by now how much I love Susan Donovan! :o) The woman always knows exactly what buttons to push…and when to push them! This book was adorable! Autumn ‘Audie’ Adams and Stacey Quinn were the typical odd couple for me, and while this book was both entertaining and exciting, it fell a tad bit flat in my eyes. Don’t get me wrong…like I said I love SD’s work and I’ve loved every book she’s written! BUT there comes a time when you have to speak the truth. I liked this book, just didn’t love it.

You meet Audie. On her mothers deathbed she promises to follow in her footsteps and become the famous Homey Helen (basically Martha Stewart) which is a HUGE façade for Audie. Audie can’t cook or clean…let alone walk somewhere without falling! But never the less her peers around her help her adjust and keep on the mask. Everything is going well until Audie starts receiving death threats by mail and finally has to involve the police!

You meet Quinn. He is a straight laced detective…prim, proper and def follows the rules. This man is everything Audie isn’t! lol Hes been burned in love (by a man that comes into the story b/c…SHOCK he ALSO dated Audie) and when he sees Audie for the first time thinks that she is his own little God-send! Little did Quinn know when he got assigned to her case that he would learn the true woman that is Autumn Adams. BUT the catcher is that even though this is the woman he never would’ve thought to be with he cant seem to stay away!

Ok one thing I HAVE to say is I absolutely knew who the stalker was from the minute this person came into the story. Ive actually read around and a lot of people feel the same way. I wish that SD would’ve laced the story a little differently to where it wasn’t so clear. That’s one thing I love about romance/mystery books…the surprise element. BUT there wasn’t one for me.

One thing I did like was the characters…Audie and Quinn were totally adorable. It felt like every time Quinn was with her he was mesmerized by her charm and beauty. He truly felt lucky to have her in his life. I loved how she got to meet his family and feel right into place. Audie had the typical rich kid childhood that was loveless and lonesome so when she gets to meets the Quinns it all sorta a shock! As was a relationship that was so intense. And that’s how the boat starts to rock. Audie gets scared off by her intense feelings…but as she learns to let herself love things fall into place.

Another thing I didn’t particularly like about this book was that I felt the two issues were too separated. Issue 1 – stalker Issue 2 – relationship. I felt the two weren’t intertwined seamlessly. It felt very choppy and therefore I was able to put the book down without remorse. So for me the book just had flowing problems that should’ve been addressed.

I did however like the fact that Audie was doing something that was totally foreign to her. I liked knowing she lived like a slob, always ate out, and hated wearing prissy clothes! She didn’t even write the columns for Homey! BUT even though I liked this aspect I felt they didn’t let you dive into it with her experiences. The furthest you go into her messiness/lack of home knowledge is knowing she has a messy house…SO I felt that SD should’ve also elaborated on this.

Ok so overall I felt this book was…hot…ya pretty hot, ive had better from SD…cute…OH YA adorable!...outta this world…not so much. You wanna read that’s not to in depth and EXTREMLY light and fluffy, then go for this but for me it was TOO light! :o)

Lover Revealed (Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 4) - JR Ward

Butch O'Neal is a fighter by nature. A hard living, ex-homicide cop, he's the only human ever to be allowed in the inner circle of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. And he wants to go even deeper into the vampire world- to engage in the turf war with the lessers. He's got nothing to lose. His heart belongs to a female vampire, an aristocratic beauty who's way out of his league. If he can't have her, then at least he can fight side by side with the Brothers...
Fate curses him with the very thing he wants. When Butch sacrifices himself to save a civilian vampire from the slayers, he falls prey to the darkest force in the war. Left for dead, found by a miracle, the Brotherhood calls on Marissa to bring him back, though even her love may not be enough to save him...

Ok…yet another Black Dagger Brother book. You know everyone has been telling me how these books go down hill but I have yet to see it happen…at least for me anyways. I REALLY enjoyed Butch’s book! OMG did I enjoy it! There are so many great things about this book I almost burst with excitement.

I think first off one mentionable would have to be…how many of us have wanted this to happen? Butch is there and ya he’s part of the group but really he’s always left out of the crowd and can’t truly fight along with the brothers. I knew something was up when he started sending off a bonding scent and how about how protective/ aggressive he got around her! HELLO that was hot! :o)

I have to admit I wasn’t sure about Marissa and Butch…and I also have to say Marissa isn’t my fav gal BUT I believe when she started taking what she wanted and started being the aggressor it was wonderful! Ive always had a soft sport for Butch and I loved that the brotherhood let him stay with them. It was about time the guy got some booty from Marissa. Lol Sure she still had her ‘V-Card’ but above all I enjoyed their intimate moments together both before AND after Butch’s change.

Oh and speaking of his change I LOVED that he had to feed from Beth!!! LMAO! Wrath wanted to kick his arse so badly they had to hold him back! EPP! And I was so effing caught up in the moment I fear I didn’t care at the moment if Butch lived or died! Lol I mean come on we knew hed live anyways. Lol

And what about all that mess with the Lessers?!?! I actually enjoyed reading their parts (even though they were far and few in-between)! I can’t believe Butch is like the “Chosen one”! I love that hes going to play a huge role in the brotherhood! :o)

Ok before my snib bit I wanted to mention a few fly by thoughts…

1- OMG V so wanted into Butchs pants…I’ve heard both sides of what people think and I personally want my “brothers” straight! Lol I just like to think that Ill meet one one day and he will take me away…and he WONT if he digs the hotdogs instead of the taco! Lol ok that was too picturesque! BUT im glad to see he did let Butch go and to me it was like bitter-sweet. Hes sad to see him go but it was a true match with him and Marissa.

2- John- I seriously feel for this kid. Guy cant catch a break! Getting beat up in school and taking heat from the brothers…o-well Lash got his and hes soon gonna change! :o) AND Id really like to see him get some booty. I wonder if the Chosen One he will feed off of during his change will hook it up with him…hmmm…and I want Tohr back :*( hes one of my favs and I want John to have a daddy.

3- I didn’t think Phury was in it enough…

Snib Bit~

"I need you in me," she said roughly. "If not your blood, then your sex. In me. Now."
She kissed him again as his tongue shot into her mouth she knew she had him. And oh, he was so good. He rolled her over and swept his hand from her neck to her breast, then followed the path with his lips. When he got to the bodice of her gown, he stopped and his face grew hard again. With a savage moment, he gripped the silk and ripped the front of the dress clean apart.
"Take it off," he demanded.
As she nodded, he pushed her panties to the side and put his mouth right on her core. The orgasm he gave her was a claim staked, a mate's marking, and he made her ride it out until her body was limp and shaking.

"Baby we don't have to do this."
"No Butch, wait. I want this."
"You're just so very tight."
"Well you're very big."
He laughed in a burst. "Nicest things...you say the nicest thing."

LMAO! HELLO...I think we all knew he was big...and that was BEFORE his change! YIPES!

Ok so overall this book was a GREAT BDB! I have to say Butch is one of my favs of these books! :o) I cant wait to read the next!!!

Yet even if Conrad can win Néomi, evil still surrounds her. Once he returns to the brutality of his past to protect her, will he succumb to the dark needs seething inside him?

Neomi Laress was a very successful ballerina in the 20's...well all up until her enraged ex finance decided to stab her in the chest and then turn the blade on himself! Being the victim of a tragic murder/suicide Neomi has been trapped a ghost in her home that the murderess actions took place. For eighty years she has endured being nothing to anyone...forever reliving her murder monthly...until a few vampires decide to move in a turn her world upside down!

Conrad Wroth is an enraged vampire hitman that doesnt care about anyone. He hates his three brothers to no end...after all they decided to make him what he is today...but why are they trying to turn him into something hes not??? Conrad is anything BUT a good man (well vampire). One night he gets captured by his brothers and taken to an old Victorian house to "heal" and become a "sane" vampire. Conrad hates what he is and does anything he can to get away. But when he sees something his brothers cant (Neomi) he is tempted to stay and become the man for her.

Will Conrad be blooded to his Neomi? How can he be with a woman he cant even tough? Will he ever come to terms with what he truly is now?

Wow...ok this was a pretty darn good book! I won this book on a blog not to long ago and everyone told me how wonderful Kresley Cole was so I decided to pick her up on a whim and boy was I ever glad I did!

This concept is pretty new to me. Ok Ive read about vamps before BUT this story is a bit off the scales for me. First off the vamp actually falls for a ghost! Ive never read about ghosts before and was curious on how they would have a HEA being...HELLO SHES DEAD...but of course they found a way around that obstacle and I might add it was somewhat smoothly done.

Let me go ahead and tell you that this review does contain spoilers so STOP READING if you dont wanna know the goods! Kay...kay! ;op

So let me get to the goods first...

This story itself was VERY imaginative! lol No, thats not a gentle way of saying it sucked or it was weird it was just different than any Black Dagger Brother or Dark Hunter book...it was somehow lighter. It had ghouls, witches, weres, shifters...etc but in a lighter sense. Idk its really hard to pinpoint exactly how to say it some I'm gonna have to just tell you that its just not your typical vampire romance!

One thing that was kinda the same was the vampire instinct to protect the female. Oh how I love how they react to their females!!! I loved how Conrad (once he found out he was blooded/mated to Neomi) was extremely protective! Putting his body in front of hers as a shield, fighting to save her life from demons...etc. He brought on the typical vampire male that you seek out in your paranormal romances! *sigh :o)

One twist I loved...until blooded, the vampire could NOT get an erection! EPPP! lol Which was cool b/c obviously Neomi and Conrad cant touch b/c shes a ghost so they describe what they would do to eachother...omg and let me tell you thats just as erotic as the real thing!!! BUT even though he was hot and bothered his body couldnt react to hers b/c she was dead. BUT when she got resurrected his body acted like any normal mated vamp and...boning...hard as a rock! lol (Did I really just say that?!?!)

A few things that I couldnt get over was that at some points I felt they were more friends than lovers. Idk I mean they did bond at times and she was helping him through his problems and just that there was an experience they shared BUT you didnt get TOO deep into the relationship that was Neomi and Conrad. Also I didnt care like that they throw the brothers in their...they get captured and he doesnt care...mind you he does start to care for the brothers at one point yet they totally fall off the scale for him. I even forgot about them! I felt KC shouldve kept them more into the story so you didnt feel so disconnected by the end. They were back in for 2.5 seconds then end of story. Idk its like she pulled out characters to help the story alogn but didnt finish the story on their side properly.

Lastly the thign that bothered me was that things KEPT happening to Neomi int eh end! It was like she was fine and alive and yet SOMETHING else would happen to her. Is she dead? Is she alive? Is she stabbed to death again...sheesh idk?!?! I felt there was SO MUCH drama pointed in her direction it made for an awkward ending. Only somewhat satisfying.

Snib Bit~
"I try to imagine what your breasts would feel like from what you'd showed me."

"Do you wish you could touch them, too?"

"God, yes,"he quickly answered, then flushed.

"Do you think about them a lot?"
He briefly inclined his forehead near hers.
"Some minutes less than others."
She gave a throaty chuckle.
"What would you be doing while I kissed them?" he asked.

"My hands would be rubbing all along your back."
Her eyes fluttered closed when he drew his hands down to reach for her. His palms were so big, fully covering the outline of her breasts. She moaned softly when she felt the tiny electrical shocks over every inch of them.
"Id be getting desperate for you by this point."

"So you wouldnt stop me if I-" he swallowed and his voice dropped an octave lower-"if I tried easing my hand up your dress?"

"Stop you? I'd place your hand on my panties."

"Id hook my finger under that black lace and pull them aside." He had clearly been thinking about more than just her breasts.

"Conrad, Id be wet for you."

Ok ok so ya this book was pretty good! :o) I havent read the others but I really think I want to now! Go get it! It was different than the norm and actually a super quick read! :o)

Aussie Rules - Jill Shalvis

Mel and Dimi were only 16 when their world fell apart, and for the past 10 years, the young women have been pretending to themselves and everyone else that their mentor and role model, Sally, will be back any time now to resume control of the airport where they've been covering for her all this time. But when Bo Black unexpectedly arrives from Australia looking for Sally to exact vengeance for her theft of his father's hard-earned money and prized antique plane, the deception becomes more than the girls can handle. Especially when threatening notes and e-mails reveal that the deed to the airport is now in Bo's name, so that everything Mel and Dimi have worked so hard for is now in jeopardy.

Yet another cute one from JS!

Mel and Dimi looked up to Sally. Sally owns the airport (or so they thought) that Mel (the airplane flying tomboy)now manages. The girls both basically had no home life and even though were opposites, bonded immediately...both with each other and with Sally. Sally runs off one day to follow a man she deemed to be in love with while the girls took over. 10 years later Sally has yet to have returned. But one day outta the blue Bo Black arrives stating HE owns Anderson Air and demands to see Sally. Why does Bo have the deed to the airport...why did Sally change her phone number...and why can't Mel seem to keep her clothes on while around Bo???

Was this the BEST book ever...no...was it enjoyable...and totally worth reading...sure it was...HELLO JILL SHALVIS WROTE IT! ;op~

One of the first things I liked about this book was that Mel and Dimi were from two different worlds yet still had such a connection and friendship. Dimi being the typical pretty girl got men wherever she went and didn't even have to try while Mel actually wasn't interested. She preoccupied her time with learning to fly! The two girls both had hardships growing up and both sets of parents seemed to have left the girls and so they attached to each other and formed a great bond and friendship!

Dimis story ALONE kept me into the book! Dimi had a self destructive lifestyle! Man after man after man...drink after drink and she still wasnt satisfied. Dimi led a stressful life and when things got tough the girl got loosey goosey! lol BUT when she started to notice a fellow co-worker Danny things started to get onto he right track. :o) That story alone was great and I really felt fro Dimi!

Another great thing is...omg Bo...he was super hot! An Aussie...HELLO?!?! Bo was faithful to a fault and never lied to Mel. I loved how he liked Mel a lot but tried to stay away from her. BUT unfortunately (or fortunately for us) he couldnt! ;o) Their sex was pretty dang HAWT! ;o) lol

BUT unfortunately thats the biggest part that carried me through the story. Like I said...was it cute? Yes...was it enough to get me by...ummm...ya BUT there was just something missing. IDK really what it was but thats what made me knock a few marks off. Otherwise it was a pretty cute read! :o)

I give this book a total of...

Talk Me Down - Victoria Dahl

Beautiful Molly Jennings, secretly an erotica author, returns to her hometown of Tumble Creek, Colo., and finds her desire for handsome police chief Ben Lawson hasn't waned during her 10-year absence. Ben can't deny the chemistry, but he fears gossip and vows to remain hands-off until Molly explains just how she earns a living. Snoopy questions from a journalist, stalker-like behavior from Molly's ex and a series of disconcerting incidents lead Ben to decide that Molly's safety is paramount, even if that means very personally protecting her.

Ok...I REALLY liked this book! It had the three things I totally adore in it...GREAT sex, mystery, and cups of wine! lol VD is a new author I'm trying out and let me tell you she did NOT disappoint!

Molly Jennings had a crush on her older brothers best friend Ben. Ben always thought Molly was pretty hot but her being 5 years younger AND his best friends little sis put her WAY outta reach...

...that is until 10 years passes by...

Both Molly and Ben find their libidos working in over-drive as they reunite 10 years later in the same old small town of Tumble Creek, Colorado. Molly has a secret and Ben wants to find out! Will this secret rip their love apart? You'll just have to read to find out...ok, or at least read the rest of the review! ;op~

WOOHOO! This book was cute. Alrighty lets jump right in shall we?

Molly...well she writes Erotica books. I just LOVE books about authors! Idk I just do and most the time the authors in my books are outgoing and loud (another plus)! This is NO exception with Molly Jennings. Molly used to be a quiet and shy girl in a small town but when she moved to Denver she grew wings and learned to fly. Molly learned a lot about herself and was able to step out of the shadow of her older brother Quinn. Mollys aunt dies and she inherits her house back in Tumble Creek where she sees her old time crush.

In comes Ben Lawson. Ben was best friends with Mollys brother Quinn and she always fantasized about being with him...even at the tender age of 17. Bens feeling were about mutual BUT he was 22 at the time and was a very good boy! ;o) Ben is the Chief of law in the town and a scandal is the last thing he needs on his hands but between everyone trying to find out Mollys hidden job (Top selling Erotica writer) and her ex obsessively trying to win her back, Ben is faced to make a decision if Molly is worth the hassle.

While Ben is working out his problems Molly has some of her own...her ex is stalking her at every corner, shes trying to seduce Ben into being her lover...while NOT falling in love with him at the same time...and oh btw did I mention she has writers block?!?!

This story was such a catch and I'm so glad I picked it up! The chemistry between Molly and Ben was amazing. I loved how Molly brought out the wild side in Ben and Ben taught Molly all about love! NOT to mention their sex was outta this world! OMG all the stuff Molly would say to him...ok Im TOTALLY straight but HELLO it was damn hot!

Another thing I loved was this...(and it really has nothing to do with the story really)...but it CRACKED ME UP!!! Ok I'm not a fancy gal...I love wine and you can ask ANY close friend of mine and they will tell you that I drink wine every night! Hey theres nothing better than a glass of wine and a good book! So when I reached this part of the story I cracked up b/c I do the exact same thing!

Snib Bit~
"Can I get you anything?"
"Maybe a cup of wine would be good." "A cup?" "I havent found my wineglasses yet. Plus I'm just fancy like that."

LMAO so ya I too drink my wine in glasses and TOTALLY get laughed at all the time! ;op~

Ok heres a REAL Snib Bit.

Snib Bit~
Finally, she took him in her hand, freed him from his jeans, and he was heavy and hot in her grasp.
"Do you know how long I've wanted this?" she whispered.
He swallowed so hard she heard him even over her pulse.

"When I walked in and saw that girl..." She dragged an open mouthed kiss down his shaft in a quick, light caress. She let her breath touch him with every word.
"I saw her kissing you, sucking you..." His deep sigh cracked in half. "And I watched, and I wanted to be her. I wanted you to send her away and tell me to make it up to you, teach me how to please you. I wouldve done anything to be the one on her knees for you Ben. I wanted to take you into my mouth, wanted to make you come."

O...M...G...*sigh...seriously read this book please! lol

OH and I wanted to say my one hang up...I understand her moving back and being like "He will be mine" and going forward but sometimes I felt she was a bit over the top. She tried TOO hard sometimes and I wanted to tell the girl to calm down! lol But overall this was a great find!!!! I will surely be going back for more...and it will be soon! Molly is somewhat in the next book...shes best friends with the heroine in the next book called Start Me Up. This book stars Lori her best friend and Quinn her brother! Epp! Must buy book! lol

Stranger - Megan Hart

I pay strangers to sleep with me. I have my reasons….

But they're not the ones you'd expect.

For starters, I'm a funeral director taking over my dad's business. Not exactly the kind of person you'd expect to fork over cash for the lust and urgency only live skin-to-skin contact can create. Looking at me, you wouldn't have a clue I carry this little secret so close it creases up like the folds of a fan. Tight. Personal. Ready to unravel in the heat of the moment.

Unsurprisingly, my line of work brings me face-to-face with loss. So I decided long ago that paying for sex would be one of the best (and arousing) ways to save myself from the one thing that would eventually cut far too deep.

But Sam was a mistake. Literally. I signed on to "pick up" a stranger at a bar, but took Sam home instead. And now that I've felt his heat, his sweat and everything else, can I really go back to impersonal?

Let's just hope he never finds out about my other life.…

WOOO HOOO! My second erotica and boy did I pick the right gal! ;o) This book was HOT! Its filled with steamy sex that leaves you panting just as hard as its characters! MH hits the nail on the head with this one!

You meet Grace. Grace cant have a serious relationship due to the fact that she works at a funeral home and sees constant death all around her. She sees wives without their husbands, husbands without their wives and parents without their children. So in order to keep her 'needs' at bay Grace hires a rentboy to satisfy her hunger. Everything was going fine until one night she mistakenly makes it with a 'Stranger' that isn't quite who she thought it would be.

In enters Sam. Hes staying at a local bar/hotel and sees a pretty hot girl getting hit on and trys to save her. Things get interesting when she seems a bit TOO thankful. But Sam doesn't mind b/c there's something about Grace that he just cant get enough of. After all is said and done Grace leaves him in an abrupt manor that leaves him very confused.

Weeks later when the two meet again under different circumstances they are forced to undergo the hardships of staying away from each other. For obvious reasons Grace doesn't want a relationship with a man she THOUGHT was her man-whore but Sam is just too damn persistent! Will Sam get what he wants...even when Grace caves will he be able to get past her prior actions?

One thing I liked about this book...ok the MAIN thing was that there was a true storyline! Ive only read one other Erotica book so I guess I really cant speak for everyone but my overall gist of Erotica's is that the main objective in the book is to get you all hot and bothered! lol Which hey that's cool with me...BUT I would love to have a compelling story along with it. And let me tell you that you will be getting one here! I swear I laughed, cried, AND got totally hot in this one little book! The relationships were honest and real as any Ive ever read about! One particular touching scene was when Grace had to pick up the body of a 4 year old boy...OMG I CRIED! She totally felt for the family and the boy who layed upon her table being done up b4 his funeral. That was a major breaking point for Grace in this book...she calls Sam...it was great!

Another great thing (and actually a bit of a hang up as well) about this book was Grace's main gigolo Jack. OMG JACK! Jack is new to the biz and she shows him the ropes. He soon gets the hang of it and starts taking the lead. OMG does this man have some hot lovin' going on! *Sigh...ok here is my issue. You meet Sam in the beginning of the book...they part...she meets Jack and they actually get somewhat of a relationship/yet not a relationship going. She crushes on him and him on her. You really fall fro Jack hard and so does Grace. I get where maybe MH was trying to show she falls fro Jack but just not enough to forget Sam but I felt she didn't dive STRONG enough into it b/c Sam wasn't really a forefront in her mind even when she was with Jack. Then they break it off and she goes after Sam. Idk the breakup broke my dang heart and I felt horrible for Jack. I felt I got to fall for Sam...sure...but actually not as much as I did for Jack. Sam came back into the story after it was over half way through. Idk I needed more Sam time!

The last thing I should mention would be that I really enjoyed all the side stories. Side stories and the fillers of books. To me they are very important b/c without them you would just have the two main characters ALL THE TIME! Therefore you would get annoyed by them and get bored quickly! In Stranger you get Grace with her family- Her sister has two kids and a hubby who actually kinda seems useless. Shes going through a rough patch and is stressed to the max.
Graces dad- Her dad is having a hard time letting go of his business and leaving Grace to running it without his pointers is driving him insane. He goes through her books and actually at one point finds out about her 'spending habit' with her men! Also you get Jared and Shelly- The two workers of Graces funeral home that end up falling for each other and bring drama into the work place.

Snib Bit~

Sam licked and kissed and stroked me. He used his mouth and hands, but he used his words, too. Sam was a talker. The things he said should've sounded ridiculous, but coupled with the gentle seduction of his lips and toughen they only sounded beautiful.
"I love the way you taste. I love the way you sound. I love the way you move. I love the way you say my name, just like that.
I love you.

So all of these great things seamed together make this book a delicious pick for youre erotic desires! ;op

Storm Born

Storm Borm by Richelle Mead

Just typical. No love life to speak of for months, then all at once, every creature in the Otherworld wants to get in your pants...

Eugenie Markham is a powerful shaman who does a brisk trade banishing spirits and fey who cross into the mortal world. Mercenary, yes, but a girl's got to eat. Her most recent case, however, is enough to ruin her appetite. Hired to find a teenager who has been taken to the Otherworld, Eugenie comes face to face with a startling prophecy--one that uncovers dark secrets about her past and claims that Eugenie's first-born will threaten the future of the world as she knows it.

Now Eugenie is a hot target for every ambitious demon and Otherworldy ne'er-do-well, and the ones who don't want to knock her up want her dead. Eugenie handles a Glock as smoothly as she wields a wand, but she needs some formidable allies for a job like this. She finds them in Dorian, a seductive fairy king with a taste for bondage, and Kiyo, a gorgeous shape-shifter who redefines animal attraction. But with enemies growing bolder and time running out, Eugenie realizes that the greatest danger is yet to come, and it lies in the dark powers that are stirring to life within her...

So like I said I hope everyone is enjoying themselves this weekend and like always Happy Reading!

Vision in White (The Wedding Quartet, Book 1) - Nora Roberts

Mackensie Mac Elliot loves capturing happy and playful moments with her camera, but her own life is all about work—until she meets English teacher Carter Maguire. He's escorting his bride-to-be sister to a meeting with the Vows team and recognizes Mac as the girl he crushed out on in high school. Funny sparks fly: he's a geeky guy who quotes Shakespeare, she's a trendy workaholic who loves shoes. He's crazy about her, which makes him verbally clumsy and, to Mac, charming, though she's saddled with a needy mother, an absent father and difficulties with both that make falling in love complicated.

Ok so I've NEVER read Nora Roberts and I have to say I was surprisingly pleased! This book was light and fluffy...kinda like a piece of wedding cake! ;o)

This story is about 4 friends who used to LOVE to play wedding and have since made it into their careers! Living in an old yet beautiful Victorian house, they have made an all-in-one wedding deal. Photo's, cakes, flowers and the very much needed coordinator has put them on the map as an up and coming venue for popular weddings! (btw Mac is the photographer)

So you meet Mackensie. Her absent father and crazed out mother have made her life a living hell. Mac's mom has married about 4 times and her father has basically replaced her for the perfect family. This in turn has effected Mac to the max! She doesn't believe in a HEA and that leads to big problems when she reunites with Carter Maguire.

Speaking of Carter...MAN DO I LOVE A HOT NERD! Carter is just what my doctor ordered. If you can't tell I adore nerds (my hubby Mike lol) and when he sees his long lost crush Mac it all comes back to him...his clumsy/nerdy ways. There is just something I love about Carter. He totally adores her ever move. He feel almost privileged to be in her presence! :o) Carter sees Mac while tagging along with his sister to her consult for her wedding at Vows (Mac and the girls wedding business). Mac isnt quite sure but she is intrigued by the guy who DIDNT catch her eye many years ago...well...he seems to be doing it now though! ;op

The story gets along pretty well and you start to seem the two form into a great relaxed relationship. They seem to balance each other pretty well! Mac is a free spirit and seems to bring out Carters wild side! :o) everything seems to go well until Mac gets wet feet and breaks it off...then to make matters worse she meets Carters ex and wants him back! lol I wont go into too much detail there (dont wanna spoil the entire story line for ya) but when all is well again there seems to still be the underlining draw back of her being scared to commit.

Will Mac be able to set all of her issues aside and let herself feel for once??? Will Carter be able to hold himself together enough to show his true side...the sexy teacher! grrr...lol

Before I show you this Snib Bit I wanted to tell ayll that its like the pivotal point of the story so don't read it if you think it will ruin your book experience. Form me it was just TOO GREAT to NOT put as the Snib Bit.

Snib Bit~

She walked back to take his face in her hands. "Carter Maguire, I love you."
As the fist around his heart clenched and released, he lowered his brow to hers. "Say it again, would you?"
"It's the first time I've said it to anyone-this way, I mean. I don't know why I thought it would be so hard. It's not. I love you. I love who we are together. I love who I think we might be. I screw up. So will you, you're not perfect. We'll hurt each other, and make each other laugh. We'll make love and we'll fight. I want us to promise to try no to let each other go. Trying is all we can do."
He met her lips with his. There was the promise, he thought. There was everything he's waited for, There was Mackensie, and she loved him.

So ya...I decided I really like Nora Roberts and I cant wait for the second story int his series...Bed of Roses. Its Emmas story! :o) EPP!

I give this book a total of...

Finger Lickin' Fifteen (Stephanie Plum Novels) - Janet Evanovich

Celebrity chef Stanley Chipotle comes to Trenton to participate in a barbecue cook-off and loses his head --literally. Bail bonds office worker Lula is witness to the crime, and the only one she’ll talk to is Trenton cop, Joe Morelli. Chipotle’s sponsor is offering a million dollar reward to anyone who can provide information leading to the capture of the killers. Lula recruits bounty hunter Stephanie Plum to help her find the killers and collect the moolah. Stephanie Plum’s Grandma Mazur. Enough said. Stephanie Plum is working overtime tracking felons for the bonds office at night and snooping for security expert Carlos Manoso, A.K.A. Ranger, during the day. Can Stephanie hunt down two killers, a traitor, five skips, keep her grandmother out of the sauce, solve Ranger’s problems and not jump his bones? Habanero hot. So good you’ll want seconds.

Alright...can the sexually frustrated readers PLEASE show me your hands...come on...I know you're out there. OMG SERIOUSLY I'm not a perv...ok not THAT BIG of one at least but Stephanie needs to get some. I know these novels aren't totally based on romance BUT give the girl some slack even our fellow bounty hunter needs a little heat sometimes.

First off I gotta say that if you know me pretty well you know that I'm a pretty loyal/faithful gal. I can't help it I have a soft heart and when I start something and attach to it I can't just let go. Thats how I look at the Stephanie Plum novels. When I first started reading a friend of mine got me hooked on Stephanie's hijinx! I loved her! She always makes you LOL! I don't really expect too much new within the series...I expect a lot of the same type of comedy and humor. But I can say that it has gone down the hill somewhat. I KNOW everyone is like DUH MONROE WE KNOW THIS...but I have to say that even though we are all too familiar with Step, Joe, Ranger, Lula...etc they still make us laugh and personally I will continue to read till the end. :o)

That being said I must get to the nitty gritty and complain a bit.

Ok first off...wth the last book Steph and Joe were fine. Better than fine they were GREAT! And now I guess they had a fight over peanut butter *eye roll and separated. I guess JE wanted to pull back a little on the Steph/Joe relationship to shake things up. I know Steph will never choose and it's done on purpose b/c they dont want to mix in too much romance but still Im starting to get a bit restless here. I think it would be interesting for her to attempt a relationship with Ranger! Hmmm...lol

One thing I like about the book was that Lula got a ton of attention! She witnessed a decapitation and the murderers are after her! lol She gets chased around town by two bozos: one a butcher who laughs like a hyena and carrys a big butcher knife and the other man couldn't hit the blind side of a barn! lol So needless to say...dangerous- yes BUT not all to bright! Lula goes to stay with Stephanie and that in itself is a hoot! She snores up a storm and forces Steph to go stay with Ranger...which brings me to the HELLO GO HAVE SEX WITH HIM part of my review. I love Ranger (yes i love Morelli more) but I really don't think I would be able to keep my hands off of this man. The best thing about him...he totally takes cares of Steph. Hes given her TONS of cars, places to live and jobs out the ying yang! Ugh...COME ON GIRL!

Ok another hang up about this book was NORMALLY theres quite a bit of an ending...Steph is normally trapped somewhere and Ranger or Morelli has to save the day etc. But NO Morelli was like so-n-so caught the killer...wth?!? REALLY thats not too exciting. Ugh...and like I said about the no sex...do you KNOW how many times I was about yelling at the book. She couldve had sex with Ranger or Morelli numerous times but noooooo. Ugh I think by the end of the book I wouldv'e settled for G-ma Mazur sex! LMAO!

Instead of Snib Bit's I thought it might be fun to do a few quotes from our fav Plum characters!

"Probably I can find her breast without it, but it's good to know there's a navigational system on board if I need it." --Morelli

"Last time you called me late at night you were naked and chained to your shower curtain rod. I hope this isn't going to be disappointing." -- Ranger

...and one of my fav's

Mary Lou- "So let me get this straight. Last night you were with the two sexiest men in the entire world, and you didn't score with either one of them."
Stephanie- "There are other things in this life besides scoring with men."
Mary Lou- "Like what?"
Stephanie- "I could score with myself."
Mary Lou- "You could go blind doing that."
Stephanie- "No! I mean I could feel good about myself. You know, like when you do a job and it turns out excellent. Or when you set a moral standard for yourself and stick to it."
Mary Lou gave me the open-mouth, wrinkled-nose, this-is-a-load-of-bullshit look. "What?"
Stephanie- "Well, okay, so I've never had any of those things happen, but they could."
Mary Lou- "And pigs could fly. But personally I'd rather have an orgasm."

Ok so this book wasn't the best BUT it did make me laugh and the Plum books are always comfort books for me...:o)

I give this book a total of...
